Way to much free time on their hands. Personally half naked girls have never persuaded me to purchase anything that I was not already inclined to purchase so not sure why they do that in advertising.

Where are the ads?

Personally I shoot bows, and don't care about ads. Advertising is worthless to me. They will lie to you no matter what they use for an ad. Buy the bow after you have shot it.

It is advertising, gets your attention right? At least the used a woman who knows how to shoot a bow.;)

Its also advertising that gets you to buy something worthless. The String splitter peep sight for example. I saw all the ads on it read the reviews. I got one, what a waste. So ads can do well or not.

My take is that if the guy comes on here I will immediately shut him down. I respect his view, but he apparently lives in some other world than the rest of us. Things sexual have been used in various advertising since the beginning of time. The thread, in my opinion, has done nothing but use up valueable broadband space and create unneccessary controversy. While I respect the idea of religious freedom nobody has the right to dictate to others what they should believe in.

Agree totally Barry, well said.

I still can't work out why this has blown up to the extent it has. Its almost a poorly directed political strike, what did they think would happen? Like Sonny stated, Martin has been using girls for advertising for a long time and I hope they continue to do so.

Did have one positive, it encouraged me to buy a 2011 calender from the Martin online store.

The guy from AT is obviously not very well with the head (and may be not only with it) but he's right to a certain degree. We have a new ad for a Nestle icecream which is more then pornographic - the women from the adult movies act like nuns comparing to the girl who ... eats icecream. I used to love this icecream, but now when i see it i can only think of antibiotics :D

BarryThat's right. No one can force another to believe the same as he believes, and he shouldn't try. All that results in is war, like we are seeing on AT right now.

i hope as a good Christian, you don't go to the pool or beach or lake or pond where women might have swim suits on...

it's marketing, plain and simple.

LOL that is all.

forget the nekkid chicks. Trucks, guns, bucks,n bows. That's all the sexy I need in advertising. Maybe I'm weird. I'd rather see bow pics than nude chicks anytime.

I'm kind of in the middle of the road. My thoughts and concerns are: I'm a man, if I said an attractive woman on a magazine didnt catch my eye I would be lying to you. But I believe a product should be good enough with out a naked woman to grab my attention.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of those adds because those air brushed perfect lighting, pictures of starving women wont make me appreciate my wife any more, and its not doing anything constructive for my perspective of her. Its where my masculine urges and desires but heads agaisnt my sense of whats right.
But I can battle these things on my own, my biggest concern is my son. He is to little now, but if this continues, I wont be able to leave the outdoor network on while he is in the room, because some commercial pops up selling T and A. Boys will be boys, but we should teach responsibility, and not drive them closer to becoming teenage parents with hunting marketing. Our hormones and the regular media are enough to contend with. I want my son to enjoy the sport of hunting, not be distracted by these adds.
Anymore if a kid gets to the age of 21 and hasnt gotten a girl pregnant he deserves a medal......

Yeah, it's definitely getting pretty bad. TV definitely isn't the greatest anymore. There's mostly garbage mixed in whatever you watch.

I was 24, but it was by the grace of God that my stupid actions didnt make me a father before 18. And teenagers have a lot more pressure then I did even ten years ago. Just a thought. Hunting kept me out of some trouble, but not all of it. If our kids dont have some out, whats left for them.
