If you go by the chart and are trying to get down to 27" DL then the chart is incorrect. You have to add about 1/8" to the cables to get it close to the correct DL. My Shadowcat as it came from the factory was about 3/4" long on the DL. With the mods in the 27" hole the DL was 27 3/4". Had to take 3 twists out of the cables so I could get it to 27.5" DL and that is with the mods set at 27".

I guess no one wants to reply to my post. I guess it is because anyone with a Shadowcat knows that I am correct.

the chart lists the ATA on the shadowcat as 39 inches. my sc measures 41.25 inches. i assume that chart won't work with my bow, right?

(just got off the phone with Joel. he cleared it up for me.)

The chart has not been corrected. Initial the Shadowcat was to be a 39" ata bow. A print mistake caused corrections that lead to the 2010 deminisions of 41 1/2" ata. Afterwards, NOV RUT, speced out the Shadowcat and adjusted strings lengths gave the 41 1/4" ata.

So what are the correct string and cable length's according to NOV RUT?

Bow string - 59 3/4" / cables - 46"

These are the current lengths on the website. So where is the change? The cable length is still wrong if you want to get the DL down to 27".

Do you have any idea what the cable and string length's should be if one was to build a set of cables and string to get the true DL?

All I know is the specs aren't right. I've had to untwist the cables and twist up the string and its still not right, I'm getting 30" AMO on #6 position.

Here is a little more info. I removed the draw stop and the mods are in the #1 hole which should make it 27". I draw bow back and am getting 27" to the front of the berger hole which when I add the 1 3/4" comes out to 28.5" DL. How is it possible that the DL is 1.75" off? I can't see Martin putting a bow on the market that is that far off on DL and not doing something to correct it. I am about ready to give up on Martin and switch to a different bow company.

I don't think you will be able to get the bow down to 27" DL.

I have a 2010 Shadowcat with CAT 1.5 cams, and on the No.7 module setting I am getting 30.5" DL. That is 1/2" longer than the bow should go with 1.5 cams.

I seem to recall there was a lot of information about this, but unfortunately that was on the old forum.

Neilmac,

I really only have to get it down to 27.5". My real concern is that Martin advertises this bow as 27" - 30" DL and you have to build custom string and twist and untwist cables and strings to get it down to the correct DL. Martin hasn't even addressed this issue, so I guess they are getting to a point where they just don't care anymore. I love the bow but I am not going to go to such extremes to get it to the correct DL when it should be that way straight out of the box.

Don't bet on that mate, my cat was originally a 27" draw and it was still hitting the post.
