Sitting here considering how much I like my 2011 Shadowcat, and what a shame it would be to sell the 2010 model, when a thought occurs: Convert!

I haven't looked at the string / cables specs yet, but could I just get a pair of Nitro 2 cams from the factory and do my own upgrade?

If the Nitro 2 cams are the same width or thinner you could.

I'll do some measuring later. I have already found that I'd need a new string as the 2011 string is just under 4" longer. The cables are the same length.

Hmmmm, looks like I'll have to figure this one out for myself.

Anyone know who I could contact at the factory about getting a pair of Nitro 2 cams?

Did you end up measuring them?

Yup!

The limbs are both the same and the cams are the same width and the same cable layout, although a very different shape. Axles are also the same diameter and the same length. All logical stuff, but worth measuring.

This sounds very interesting, please keep us updated on how things proceed, hoping you are successful. How many different cam configurations are possible for the '11 Cat? Are you trying to just upgrade or completely duplicate the '11 Cat you have now?

From what I can work out the are a couple of combinations, although I am told that all the 1.5 cams are the same. The CAT 2.0 and Nitro 2.0 are completely different and it's the Nitro's I'm after. I am just waiting for a price, and they should be on their way.

I am trying to reproduce in my nice black 2010 Cat the same smooth draw characteristics that I have in the leopard spot bow, as I much prefer it to the 1.5, which itself is much easier than my 2008 Constitution.

Still get the speed and accuracy, but not the aching shoulders.

I'll take a few photos as things progress.

That will be cool to see, thanks.

My black cat has what look like a black pint finish, I took it as a standard finish, but someone might have messed with it before I got it.
