...Well kinda. I used to shoot Martin, first was an '07 C4 Cougar, with the M-pro cam. I still believe that was the smoothest bow I have ever had. Next was an
'08 Firecat pro-x, Not as smooth, but really packed a punch. Plus I could tune it to however I wanted. Then I got an opportunity to shoot for Hoyt, so I did. I hated selling that Firecat, but needed the money. I shot Hoyt for the past 2 years, Hoyt Alphaburner, and then this year I got a Matrix Plus. Both were and still are amazing bows. but they didnt quite feel the same as the Martin's I had.
I still have my matrix plus, shoot it for tourneys, actually got my first turkey with it this past spring. However, this past week, I was looking around on the classifieds on AT and came across a custom Martin Warthog. It has Barnsdale limbs, and was custom built, black riser and camo limbs. It immediately caught my attention, and the price was hard to beat as well. So I bought it, for hunting. 32 1/4 A2A, 6 1/2 BH (most people would shy away from that, but I dont mind shorter BH) The string specs are the same as the original firecat, just with a warthog riser.
The bow should be in next week, and I will have to post some pics for you guys. It's not gonna be anything fancy. it will just be dressed up with a Sims mod/scoil stab., 3 pin Extreme sight, and a whisker biscuit. Figuring this would be my hunting bow, I was gonna keep it as close to K.I.S.S. as possible.
Speed is not a factor for me, but I will get you guys some numbers as well. It will be shooting a 405 grain FMJ at 65 pounds, so anything in the 280's to 290's would be awesome.
Im really pumped for this bow. Just thought I should let you guys know!
