O.K. got the new cable rod and string stop installed along with the new cables, I did it myself and it was my first time for this kind of work on a bow. What I was wondering should the cables cross each other above the cable slide or below? This is what I ended up with just not sure I'm right. The bow shoots great just wanted to be 100% sure.

Looks wrong, the cables should cross over under the cable guard.

Thank you, I didn't think so. I'll get right on it.
Thanks

Should the down cable be in front of the up cable? I'm pointing at the down cable. If I put the down cable behind the up cable then they cross above the cable rod.42034204

Too many people think this is a big issue...its not. As long as the cables dont rub, it does not matter if they cross above or below...

As long as the cables dont rub

True, needs to have a gap.

Disagree, if it crosses above you can get more cable wear from the slide because of the angles being steeper. I don't think it is good for the load or torque on the limbs either.

Btw, the 'down cable' is called the buss cable. It does go down though. ;)

Agree to disagree then. For Example. My 08 Firecat crossed above. My Dad's Bengal crossed above with his old string set. We put the new ones on, and they cross below...My brothers C4 Cougar? Crosses above. My Warthog? Crosses below...

Flip the slide around once, so the holes are switched around...I bet your cables cross at a different place...And it wont make a lick of difference on performance and/or string wear. There really is no "Perfect" way to do it. Just do it so your cables dont rub, and you will be fine.
