View Full Version : 2010 Saber Chronographed
Hey everyone, I had my bow Chronographed before and after I replaced my string and cable, had it cleaned and lubed too.
I have a 2010 Saber with a 28" pull and 56lbs. I used a hunter xt arrow that weighed 391 gr.
I was getting 229 fps. with old string and 230 fps. with new string, the old string was stock and I replaced with Hammerhead string from Martin.

According to the calculator it should be a bit faster but we don't know what all is on the string and what type of peep he has. Still, it should be a little faster IMO.

I have the NAP QuikTune 360 CaptureRest with Whisker String Silencers and I used the
Arrowspeed Radar Chronograph.

Whisker silencers will slow it down, but 229, that's a bit sad. No offense. But with the right arrow and draw, and all the correct jazz I'm sure it would be closer to ibo. This makes me afraid to chrono my bow

Comparing your numbers to IBO specs I did some rudimentary math and came up with:
30" draw minus 28" draw= 2" or about 24 fps loss
70# minus 56#= 14# or 28 fps loss.
391 gr arrow-350 gr= 41 gr or 14 fps loss
Total= 66 fps less than IBO rating.
Add to that your string slincers (-7 fps), peep (-2), string loop? (-3) and that's another 12 fps
Grand total==78 fps loss from IBO rating
Add this to your actual speed of 230 and you get 308 fps. What is the IBO rating of the bow?

IBO is 320 fps.
