Don't know, Jake. Heck, I'm still happy with the Nitrous X system. But maybe a new x system could get me to 'upgrade', but the bows will really have to shoot to do so !! :D

Thanks for the pics. I would be very surprised if they came out with an X system. I believe they left the cable guard off on purpose to focus on just the riser. I do like the looks of the new single cam.

It does make you wonder what they were thinking, don't it? The Bengal was probably the best selling bow they've had in the last 10 years and they go and change the name just for the sake of change. People do relate to name recognition. I wonder how many Ridge Hunters they sold as compared to Bengals the year before.

Is it just me or does the idler wheel on that new bow looks small compared to the size of the lower cam?

I makes me wonder if there are going to be new cams on the two cam bows as well? If that happens it will make my Nitro 2 cammed bow worth even less once they are released. :(

i would think a small wheel would give a bit more speed.spins faster,

Actually, the further you are from the pivot the faster you will travel on the arc. Remember playing snap the whip and being on the end?

Anyway, the just looks small in the picture, it could be an optical illusion.

I think the idlers looks like it matches well actually. Look at how much space is between the string/cables at rest in the cam, and idler. They have nearly the same spacing, so either its an optical illusion or some new Martin innovation (we all know they are good for it) I got raked over the coals on AT for mentioning that the cam looks quite aggressive, and I said hopefully that equals more speed. I got told I can't tell that from looking st the cam track. I really wanna call b.s. on that since comparing bows of the past with small cams to bows of today with large cams, I gotta think the aggressive shape has something to so with speed. I realize the limbs have to do with it as well, but then Egypt is that once.ou replace the round idlers with a second cam, you have more sees than a single with the same limbs? Just thought I'd share that. I feel the cam looks badass..... and I want one. Haha. Also... now seems to be under 30" ata doesn't it?

Dave

The thing I noticed most when looking for a bow last year is that the hump I had always heard about was on the milder cams more more so than the speed cams. Right or wrong this is how I perceive it. As you draw the bow the cams rotate and get harder to draw. The mild bows pull easy in the beginning and then ramp up towards the end. This is the hump as I understand it. The speed cams ramp up very quickly and then stay steady throughout the rest of the draw. The following is just an example, I have never put them both on a draw board with scale attached to plot draw force curves. With both bows set to 60 pound I may draw my son's Pantera back 8 inches before I get to the full 60 pound draw where my Firecat 400 may be at 60 pounds at only 4 inches. Since the speed cams are kept under higher tension longer they sling the arrow faster. Clear as mud?

That being said I was totally shocked when I compared my FC400 to my brother's BT Invasion. His cams look much more aggressive than mine but his was much easier, or at least seemed much easier to draw. So I do have to agree that you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Martin's version of the extremely popular Z7 Extreme? I hate for it to be like that, but that is my guess....I hope they really bring out a new X-System, Revamp the Archery world once again...

Unfortunately they are right dave. The cable track is far mroe important than the string track. Bows from 2000 produced awesome speeds with a not so fancy string track.

m I think I'm thinking the same thing as Simon (Monty). It can be decieving about how aggressive a cam appears based just on it's shape. It's overall size and the shape of the module are part of that force-draw curve as well.

Does anyone use a carry method like this? I think I might have to do something like this. It would be nice to have both hands free, or at least something I can drop if need be, while walking in the dark to the blind.

I picked up a primos bow sling this fall.. LOVE IT. I like how it protects my strings and what not during transport, and it stays in place real well. It is in a nice camo pattern, and I just leave it at the base of my tree when I go up the stand, and toss it on again when I get down.

Yeah, I have to agree. She did look a lot nicer from that angle, or any other angle---bow or no bow.

Its about that time of year when companies start releasing new catalogs. However Martin is usually one of the last to do so, around the end of the year...
