View Full Version : martin phantom project bow ** Question**

Im in the process of repainting an older martin phantom. It currently is setup with standard limbs and fuzion cams.
I have a set of Vipro cams (same as Mpro) i would like to switch out with the fuzion. Does anyone know the formula for figuring my new string/cable length with the different cams?? Any help would be great.

What is your ata on the bow you are trying to put them on? What is the nearest ata bow that has those cams came on? My guess example is if you had a 34" ata bow and you look for the bow that has those cams and is the closest ata you could use those string specs. The lengths would be right. The servings would be right. The center serving might be different.

Hutch is about right with this. I've ordered custom bows from Martin and asked Joel the same question. His explanation was about the same thing. It's a little bit of guessing but usually works out fairly close.

According to martins specs the phantom ATA is 37 1/4 I have yet to find a bow with mpro cams that has a close ATA

My guestimation is a 105.5" string and 41.75" cable should put you right about 37.25" ata.
Lemme know if I win a prize or just get a big L. :)

That sounds like it should be close, how did you come up with those numbers?

Ok, I was wrong on the year and the ATA. Its a 2002 Phantom with standard 16" limbs and fuzion cams, the ATA is 37 1/2

What is the string and cable lengths currently for the bow?

String is 97" and cable is 40"

I believe Spiker's guess is very close to what you need. 105.5" string and 41.75" cable

Do you guys think these numbers still look right for an ATA of 37"?

sorry i meant 37 1/2

No way of telling if it is going to be exact. But knowing the size of the new cams it will need the 8" more for the string. When you are ready pm about the string and cable.
