I'd sugest powder coating rather than paint, if the hunt for a black riser gets too long for you, meantime keep watching the classifieds, both here and on ArcheryTalk.

just search your local yellow pages for powdercoaters. i stripped my Cheetah to bare metal and dropped it off. $20 and 3days later...

the pics dont do it justice. some acetone(nail polish remover),a scotch brite pad,a small wire brush, and some elbow grease to get the old finish off.

I'd also recommend powder coating. It's just a better looking, much more durable finish.

im not looking for one to paint or powdercoat i am looking to replace the one ive got because the limb bolts were bottommed out in the riser and according to my dealer the original bolts were to long and they replaced the bolts but the bolt and washer still hang over the end of the riser its the same problom my dad had on his firehawk about a month ago and they fixed it with a new riser and now they wont fix mine dealer says martin no longer makes the riser and im stuck with it which i find hard to believe because the just put a new riser on my dads bow less than a month ago

Do you mean the bolts bottom out in the riser so that the limbs can not be fully seated.?

no where in my original post does it say i am looking for a riser to paint

If the bolts bottomed out in the riser either - the bolts were too long or the hole in the riser is to shallow.
Either way - this should be a simple fix.

in your post it said you were just looking for a black riser and you did not state a problem with yours so we all thought you might just want a black riser.so there ya go

Jason,

Before you go shipping the bow is it possible for you to post a couple of pictures of the problem area? I'm having a problem understanding what you mean when you say the bolt and washer extend beyond the riser. Maybe you're just not explaining it right or I'm not interpretting it right. In either case pictures might make it clearer to understand just what the problem is. If we can sort it out it might save you the cost of shipping.
