well,I hate to be a negative nancy, but my new year never starts off good. It never will. New Years day is the official last day of MI's deer season. A day to reflect on the season and the shots presented and taken. A reflection on the mistakes made and experiences gained. To take joy in my successful season, but am saddened to see it end. It's cold, rainy and high winds today,so I'm even more bummed that it's just too nasty for one final hunt.

Tomorrow is another day closer to MI's 2012 Bow opener on Oct.1st. It's the start of pre-season prep, practice and scouting. The pressure is off, now. Time to work on extended range, perfecting stalking techniques, planning food plots, stand sight prep, equipment experimenting and tinkering. A possible purchase of hunting land to be transformed in my own piece of "deer heaven".

A Happy New Year it will be. Congrats to everyone that had a successful hunt in 2011. A lot of you guys experience a lot of new emotions with your first bowkills. Congratulations to you. I hope you all continued success and the flood of emotions that come with it. I'm glad to have more people enjoying the sport. I hope y'all get as addicted as I am. Who needs drugs when ya can draw blood.

a way i like to practice stalking is to find a good chunk of publick woods, bring a buddybwith his own rig and find spots you both know about half a mile to 1 mile apart.that way you know where to find your friend and he knows how to find you(just in case) and start to pretend to hunt him.then you work on stalking to the are your buddy is in.when you do get to him he will be able to tell you if he herd you walking up on him.if you scare him then your stalking is good.if you dont and he hears you walking up on him then you know what you need to work on.

and it fun.try it with paint ball guns, its a blast.
