Well it is almost 9:30 and I just came back inside from shooting. Took some shots to warm up the strings and the draw feels great, nice and smooth, little bit of a hump but once it's over it's solid and real nice. Got my peep place, took a little bit of adjusting to get the height right, thank god for the no-press treat from Martin. Back out and only a few arrows before I was driving 'em home at 20 yards. Going to play with it some more tomorrow and get more of a review in, plan on putting together a video. Probably going to dial up Buckbadger of Cool Cats for some whiskers tomorrow/tonight.

More pictures and info to come ;) And thanks everyone for the comments.

Bows always sound loud when I shoot them. Going to need to get some extra feedback from guys to listen in. Try to find someone I trust to shoot it and listen for myself. Always hard to tell from videos, but if I go back to youtube, I think it is quieter than the Alien.

Getting whiskers for it, so that will make a big difference I think. Majority of the sound I think is coming from the bumper, still want to play with that a little.

Im pretty sure that when or if you change the string bumper to a softer type you will be very happy. After I did that to my Pantera its whisper quiet............no need for anything on the string, all you hear now is a little noise from the Dropzone rest.

You think the Limbsaver bumper is the way to go then? Chances are I'll put the Whiskers on anyway - I like how they look when I get a nice tight ball! I'm thinking most of the noise I'm probably going to get is the stopper and some from the limbdriver. So far I feel pretty happy with it. I was looking at my Alien video from a little while ago and I think it sounds quieter in the videos at least.

Id go with the limbsaver for sure Ive got those on both of my bows. Also when I adjusted mine I know as a rule you should have a very thin gap between the string and bumper but at least for me Ive got mine just barley touching the bumper.........that worked best for me.

Hows it feel in relation to your cheetah at the shot?? less vibration or handshock?

droppixel
04-27-2012, 01:14 PM
Vibration and Shock are next to non-existent. Upon release, it feels really good, no jumping or anything and it balances really well. I'm doing a lot of comparing of this bow to my Alien really. The Cheetah is pretty dead in the hand too, but that bow is heavy as heck and I got it loaded up with Vib dampening stuff.

The draw is really nice I think, it pulls smooth, there is a little bit of a hump that I am feeling and as soon as the stop hits it's firm. Still trying to work with the draw stop, don't want to over rotate the module into the strings to avoid the wear and tear as much as I can.

What I would really like to be able to do is get my hands on a chrono just for the heck of it. Never chrono'd any of my bows and I'm just curious where they are and if there could be room for performance improvements.

It sounds like your settup is working pretty good for you. That cam has so much adjustment it really takes alot of tweaking to get it just right. Ive got mine set pretty shollow with limited valley and a solid wall...........seems to help with how I release. As for the speed of the Fury XT......well, from my experiance its no barn burner..........it gets the job done thats about it. With my Pantera Im shooting it set on 70lbs.......29"dl..........364grn GT XT hunter. My string has a d-loop, ultra lite super peep and a tied in nock set for a kisser..........its shooting at 285fps. Im sure with a longer draw it would do better........but Im pretty sure my shoulders arent gonna grow any wider! :o

Where do you have your module set? I'm in #4 and trying to get it all figured out. I have shot bows at 29" and 29.5" and felt good with both. I'm sure I could probably shoot 30" I've never been "officially" measured.

Thermodude
04-27-2012, 02:09 PM
Ive got mine set in the #3 position and the draw stop is just slightly past the center of the word "DRAW" written on the cam. Ive tried shooting it longer and I can, however my form suffers so Im staying with the tried and true. This is my 3D bow and its very accurate.

droppixel
04-27-2012, 03:45 PM
Might try that out and see what I get. I know if I take it over the 4.5 it's definitely long and hard to get the draw stop in a comfy spot. Got a good week to play and get it dialed before turkey next Saturday.

Robbed the bumper off the Alien and put the Limbsaver on it. This one is pretty squishy, don't know what brand/model it is though. Came on the Alien. In order to have it fit had to almost bottom out the carbon STS. Btw this and the whiskers, noticeable difference I believe in sound.

Nice bow DP,where did you get the green peep,is it a Meta?

droppixel
04-29-2012, 09:32 AM
Yes sir, G5 Meta - 60X has them on his fleaBay store (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flo-Green-G5-Meta-Peep-Sight-1-4-/290704111309?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43af50b6cd#ht_500wt_933). I got my from Bowhuntersuperstore - they are still about $10-11 depending on who you get it from with the shipping factored in.

I have nothing against blue, have one on the Cheetah and Alien, but I found out about the Green honestly the day after I tied the Alien peep in. So when I found out about the Bengal, I ordered a green for it. Looks really nice.

I wish I could go back to a standard peep but with age comes vision problems. I started using super peeps with verifiers last year and they really work well.........once in ah while I get a little glare but at least I can see my target and pins!

Rather snap a nock than split a shaft!! Nocks are easy to replace lol! I got a bag of them in my archer box, but I'm running low ... gonna need to make another order if I keep this up! Prime reason why I don't shoot groups, but I was getting my 40 pin set, so I didn't have much of a choice.

Shot a 50 yard group this weekend and had a couple close calls. Will be shooting 50+ more to get it firmed up and wouldn't be surprised if I see something like this at 50 as well. Martin did a top notch job with this bow, it's amazing!

Just wait boss. I don't give in to many things, this being the main one. She tried getting me to keep my Mossberg at my dad's this past fall and I basically told her to stop talking because it wasn't happening. The same with putting my hunting gear out in my garage ... ain't happening, stop talking.

Sadly no, I'm a lame-o without a Chrono and the Gandermountain near me ... there's is out of commission because some jack-tard shot it ... Might be able to go to BassPro and see if they have one on their range. There is a proshop near me and he has one of the stabilizer ones he'll let people "use" but he's a total d-bag so I avoid going there at all costs.

275 the other day. Going to see if I can squeak a little more out by shortening up the center serving, it is crazy long and trimming back or removing my whiskers.
