Something to look at to model after. Not a bad set up I'd say. Practical/functional for as simple as the rig is. Definitely ways to improve it.

Sorry Dp, but that scares me! A bow with a hard draw cycle will flex that pipe and that will end that. I am sure there are ways to make that set up better. The one thing I see is the bow holder is not free floating so the bow is stiff. You would need to make it free floating so it shoots the way a human shoots. Also I would put a steel rod inside the 3/4 pvc for safety. Get a different winch that you can crank with out a ratchet.

Hey Dp, try this one you can do this with out welding. All you will need is to put in an up and down feature.

Looks like they missed alot by the holes in the 2x4's on the target frame...
Plus . . . anyway...

I do have a question tho, for you that have 'shooters' - If you use a regular 'boat' winch to draw the bow back,
when you fire the bow, does the winch just sit there - does the cable or strap want to jump, does the winch want to backlash...???...

p.s. ... and I would weld that thing together.!...

Spiker my cable to my winch doesn't move it just sits there.

And yes mine is welded!

LOL ... I never said I would make this one ... Just something to look at and get some ideas from.

I think the mechanism of the winch prevents this. The energy isn't stored but is transfered into the lock so to say. :)

Another one to look at. Looks like this guy used uni-strut. Not many more things in the world that bother me more than vertical video syndrome ...

Wow I think I am getting motion sickness watching that video. The only problem with that one is cost. The one I build would cost less than $100 dollars. Many different designs out there some good some bad. There is a tread on AT that shows many different ones. I would give the link but I can't get on at for some reason.

hahah i hear ya! AT has been down just about all day from what I know. That last one the biggest cost I think he's got there is that Ryobi stand. Getting a lot of ideas from what I've seen here and off of your plans. When AT fires back up and if you find that thread, post it up.

Making a list to "bookmark" these for future reference.

Another interesting one. Even if just for a draw board.

And this one I think is real nice ... Bill seemed to think so too ;)

Think some sort of uni-strut approach would be pretty straight forward. The last one with the larger conduit, might be a feasible option as well should I go with a no weld system. The main goal is to at the very least have a drawing board. The shooter side of it would be a bonus and if I can just get both done at the same time I'll go for it.

This link has some good ideas. But none of them as far as I know can do the same arrow in the same hole. The guys that listened to me have shooting machines that can. Not all of them look like mine but they work well. The key to everything is the bow holder.

The two that I like out to the bunch you gave me are good ideas one has a great bow holder.
http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1428694 Bow holder is great! a few adjustments and it will work better then mine.

http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=734186&highlight=cooler (http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=734186&highlight=cooler) I modeled mine after this one and did some major changes.

Here is a pic that a guy did like mine.
