Hey, i need a favor...or two. Can some measure the new style grip for me,please? Depth from throat to belly at top, middle, and bottom, and total length. Also, if I could someone to trace the grip on a piece of card stock or other thin cardboard, and send it to me. That would be awesome. My Idea is to have the older style grip on my Bengal machined down to the newer style before I give it a makeover.

Before I do that, you are talking about the Saddleback grip, correct?

Here are the approx. measurements: Length 3.740" (Keep in mind that the grip is not straight), Width: .742" Depth: Top: 1.170" (including grip material) Middle: 1.160" (including grip material) Bottom: 1.120" (without grip material).

I'll get a trace of the grip in the mail to you when I can.

Thanks, Brad. Hopefully I can make this happen. I tend to be more consistent w a skinny grip. The bow is plenty accurate as is,but i think I can improve it a bit.

You're welcome.

As far as the skinny grip is concerned, I prefer it over my Jaguar's grip any day.

Oh, yeah. The Bengal has the same grip as the Jag. Its OK,but not what it could be.

You know Hawg, one thing I did to my Saber that also helps with narrowing the grip, was that I took the rubber that surrounds it off, cut the rubber off so that just the inserts were left, and glued those back in. It's essentially like shooting of the riser, but there is a little bit of comfort on the sides...

that's not a bad idea!

I did some grip inserts on my Cheetah that was pretty cool. I printed the Martin logo off the computer, traced the grip around it and cut to fit. Then I did the same thing with some clear plexiglass and put over top. Not sure if my pics are still on here or not. I'll look.

Here's what I'm looking at doing. the red line nearest the left hole closest to the arrow shelf is a bit off. It shouldn't end up being that close, but if it is,I'll just forget this idea or have that hole filled somehow. I won't know until I get it down to bare metal, though. We'll see what happens. No,I'm not crazy. this can be done safely and effectively. I don't recommend doing this without some experience in welding and metal work.

Nice keep us up to date Hawg. This is definitely an interesting project. You doing mostly dremel work?

I hate Dremels. Band saw or flap disc on an angle grinder. I'll be doing a build thread for the Bengal. I'm calling a couple places tomorrow in hopes of having some custom decals done for the limbs.
