My bet would be that the limb pockets need regreased. I had a bow that did the same thing. Loosened the limb bolts until I could get under the limb, then dabbed some lithium grease in with a Q-tip. Never has done it since.

also possible the "pad" under the limb bolt could be moving a little, it should be teflon type material, the firecat is a plastic, so I've gotta choose lube cautiously so it doesn't degrade the material

I had that same thing on my Bengal and it was my draw stop creeping. I reset it, tightened it up and the noise went away.

I agree with the guys above. What the first two said is usually the case, but I wouldn't rule out the the draw stop or anything else either.
I had a creaking on my FC 400 and it drove me crazy. I checked the draw stop, pockets, string stop, and drop,, finally it was the bearings in the upper cam. Did the same thing "only creaked now and then" but for hunting it's a no go. Martin CS sent new cam.
Figures I was going to take it apart today and grease the roto cup but its not making any noise today

Well, since you've got apart, grease it anyway. What could it hurt? :D
