Thank you Lord for looking out for me earlier today. I was walking around doing yard work and walked right by this 2ft 7 inch Rattler. I still have no clue why he didn't strike me. I jumped to the side but he had all the time in the world to nail me. I'm sure glad my boy wasn't running around the yard and it was I that encountered him. He only struck the metal pole once.I think it was the humidity and heat. He was up against the house siding and couldn't get enough shade to cool down. Another Rattler added to the necklace. Thank you Lord.

Nice. Its always the way isn't it? Its after the fact, when we realize that we should have been in trouble and there would have been no way to get around it, that we see God's hand. At that point I always stop and throw up a quick prayer of thanks. Glad no one got hurt!

2'7" isn't all that big, but could still put a whoopin on ya. By the way, was that the length with or without the head?

They're all big to me. LOL. I safely measured the head before burying it in the field for safety. Gabriel and I measured the body relaxed without stretching the snake. Just tried to straighten him out...It kept moving around on us. I killed another one over a week ago in a neighbors yard. It was a little over a foot long. I took the Rattler and added it to my little collection.

You should go buy a lotto ticket now. My bff's mom got hit by a copperhead last week. 2 Doses of ant-venom, she is better.
Her husband has been hit 3 times. They need to move.

Was at the archery range with my daughter and granddaughter when we discovered a sidewinder not 10 yards from where my granddaughter was playing, he got the shovel. Worst I've ever been spooked by a snake is while dove hunting years ago and went to retrieve my dove and a Mojave Green about 3' long was coiled right between my legs and buzzing. Mr. Ithaca blew his mind. Here you must have a fishing license to (take), whatever that means, a snake. Largest one was a 5'+ Pacific Coast rattler laying across the dirt road while leaving one morning, a very low serial # Ruger 10/22 met him before he could go 50 yards where some FlatLander children were playing.
