I bought a Nemesis online for my daughter it said draw length was supposed to be 26-29 but the specs are actually 28-30 the string
is 58 and the cable is 39 3/4. I saw on the spec charts i got the nitro 3Ls when it should have been the 3s now are they different cams or
are they the same cams with different modules? If the cams are different can i change the string and cables and what size would i need to go to to get
it down to 26 1/2 inch draw

Welcome to the MTF, they are different cams. One is a 3s and the other 3L, older Nemesis has 1.5 or 2.0. You would need to get 3s or 1.5 depending on the year of your bow.

As a string builder I have short strung bows. it works great depending how short you need to make it. Shortening the string will the let off and the poundage.

how short do you need to go if you trying to get down to 27 the answer would be go for it, more than that get the right cams

thanks for the info so far I am hoping to get to 26 1/2 by doing strings and cables but 27 would do. What would the string and cable lengths be? If we have to change cams you would also have to change the strings and cables correct? The bow is a 45-60 lbs I'm not to worried about losing poundage because she is shooting at about 50lbs now

First things first what year bow are we taking about. On the bottom limb should be a sticker the serial has the year its the first 2 digits. Also need the to know what module is it a built in or replaceable mod.

the sticker with the serial number is not on the limb. the other sticker info is draw weight 45-60, draw length is 28-31 split string 39 3/4 shooting string is 58 , m56 brace 7 inches ata 35 inches. the limbs say martin x4 mag twin rytera series nitro 3 cams and it has replaceable mods i hope that helps. that is all the info i can find on the bow

So its 2013 the mod would have to be set at its lowest point and then decide how short of a string and cable.

I should have asked this first. Who did you buy the bow from?

bettylou, you might want to call the company you bought it from or Martin and see if you can exchange the cams and strings. If not pm me and we can see about short stinging the bow.

They will work with you, trust me on this. They have sent me 3 bows trying to get my order correct and I still have all 3 in the house as we speak. If the information in the listing was wrong, they will eventually make it right. It's going on 5 weeks for my deal but they are very willing to get it right.

Bettylou, I would suggest contacting whoever you bought bow from and seeing about an exchange (if new). Your bow has the larger 3L cams on it and you need the 3S cams, but just changing the cams isn't enough. You're going to need lighter limbs, too, to maintain the 45-60 rating. The shorter cams are going to raise the draw weight range to 55-70#. Barring that you can call Martin and see if they'll make the swap for you. You may have to order things through a shop, which I'm sure the Warranty dept will direct you accordingly.

Another reason to contact Martin is that long as you are making a limb swap you might consider lowering the weight range to something less than 45-60. That is a lot of weight for a girl. You might consider lowering it to 35-50#, again, which the warranty dept can help with.
