I've got an '07 S4 riser with a pair of 3H, 16" straight limbs goin' on it, along with "A" Nitrous X cams...

Not really a question, but, lookin' for confirmation on the string/cable lengths;
String-53 1/2"
cables-43"
Making the ATA 41 1/4"

I figure it's better to get the right stuff the first time around! :D

Thanks in advance! ;)

Hey Stormbringer...I have alredy done exactly what you are going to do. What I did was take the A/A of a Cougar with the with 16" limbs and the Z cam specs and the same bow with the Fury cam specs and split the A/A length wich came to 40.75" and then added the 7/8" to it to make up for the difference in length between the Scepter and the Cougar for a total A/A of about 41.675.

Now here is what I did as far as string and cable go. I have found that with the A Nos cam some bows use a difference of 10.5" difference between the string and cable length and some use a difference of 10.75" trust me go with the 10.75" you will be able to tweek the cams better and they are better orientated at this length.

So that being said since at Scepter Elite A/A length of 43 3/8" and Scepter w/16" limb A/A of 41 5/8" that is a difference of 1 3/4" subtract that from the string and cable lenth of the Scepter Elite and you come up with a string and cable length of 53.75" and 43".

Nothing else to add other than that if Scepterman30X says that, you can go by it. He has a lot of experience with Scepters; more so than anyone else i know of. I'd go by his good judgement.

I would have thought Martin would have had some stats available for the specs on that configuration. Even if it was not a standard. Oh well.

Probably along the lines of a 2L to a 2H. The same thing I have on mine. I have the NOS A cam on mine and as long as you are using the small Furious cam they use about the same deflection #.
I will see what mine are exactly and reply back later.
BTW do you have a stash of 16" strait limbs you are holding out on us?

wish I had some, trying to find a set but no luck yet.
I checked with someone who has one for sale and they had 4L on thiers. so I was unsure what size I need to try and find
thank you

They are tough to find. may even be willing to include my set of XL furious cams in a trade if i can find some.

It shoots great, the draw curve seems a little more "harsh" compared to the same cam system with Elite limbs....but, it's still very accurate...and, fast! ;)

True and I'm sure Stormbringer will agree that it is not as "harsh" as the 14" limbs either.

I've never concidered shootin' 14" limbs....I've alway loved the Elite limbs, but, wanted a little more power for the outdoor shootin'!

I shortened the DL by 1 hole, and, everything fell into place...draw cycle was much smoother, arrows were making bullet holes thru paper...got 'er dialed in a 20 yards, went to shoot a 5 spot game, and, the new shoot string broke at full draw....Murphys Law, ya gotta love it! :D

Shame on me for not updating this thread! :D

BuckNasty supplied another bowstring, and, this bow friggin' shoots awesome...had it for sale, then came to my senses, and, took it off the market....dunno what I was thinkin'!?!

90 meters ain't a problem with this beauty! ;)

Man after spending some time shooting with scepterman, and listening to the rest of you guys, I'm wanting a scepter for myself! Alas I have my hands full with the Warthog...relearning form, building up bow muscles, etc, etc. I promised my wife I'd only own one bow, but I may have to renegotiate!

Hey brother, do you mean renegotiate or "renege"?:D

You are correct, I would be reneging on a promise to negotiate a new deal, lol. We will see what the spring brings, the groups are tightening up daily by the way!

Can't have too many Scepters...I just picked up, yet another, S4 Elite, in the Crimson Flame color this time around...it's going to be a true beauty with the highly polished "A" Nitrous X at the end of the Elite limbs...talk about bling! :D

Pictures will be coming to a monitor near you soon! ;)
