View Full Version : Limb info

I just bought another used 2006 Slayer, this one does have the Se limbs, my other Slayer has the 14" Magnum limbs on it, so the brace height is differnt on these bows, What are the specs for a 2006 Slayer SE The A-T-A ( still 37 3/4 ?) and a brace height of 6 1/8 ? And I've hnted all over Martin's website looking for code definitions, ( what weight are these ) My 14in Magnum limbed Slayer has 4H limbs ( 60# ish ? ) and the 13in SE limbs are 2M, Can any one give me a link to Martin's limb info or tell me what these limbs will max out at. A side note here, if the limb info is a PDF file, I won't be able to download it. Thanks for any help.

I'm sure that it would help if I remembered to say that both bows have Nitrous C cams, both are X shoot-thru, not that it would make any difference as to the draw weight. although the 13in SE limbs do have the 65% modules on them and the Magnum limbs have the HL mods. Does that help?

According to the 2006 catalogue ATA is 37 3/4" and Brace Height varies between 5 3/4" to 6 ½" (DL 23" - 31", 335 FPS).
And the 2006 spec sheet gives for Nitrous C-cam
DL : 28" - 31"
Shoot string: 58.25"
Split string: 39.5"
2H limbs gives 50#, 4H => 60#, 6H => 70#
So from that your bow should max out at 48# if its correct, and the 2005 specs confirms the data.
All of this data is from Martin's webpage (pdf-files), but since I don't have any experience of the Martin SlayeR I dont know if its correct.

Thanks for your help, but what about the 2M limbs? What do they max out at?

My '07 slayer X w/M Pro cam has 13" 2M limbs on it. W/a 37" ATA and seated fully for 60# the bow measured 63.80 lbs on the scale last time I checked it...
I back it off about one or two turns and am shooting it at 57-60 lbs depending on my attitude at any given time...If I switch over to shoot thru w/NOS C cams I don't think the # will change...just the feel of the draw...

As I mentioned in my first post above, I now have 2 2006 Slayers, both with Nitrous C cams. One has 13" SE 2M limbs, the other has 14" Magnum 4H limbs, that I'm pretty sure peaks at 60 #s. The Slayer SE is much easier to draw. I'm kinda wondering about whoever put this bow togather, Seems to me if your bow model is a Slayer Exterme, that the limb that had the decal that said SlayerX Exterme would be the top limb, right? Mine's on the bottom.

Sounds to me like whoever had the bow before either changed the limbs around or swapped them for whatever reason. 2M should give you about 48# if I looked at the charts right. I'll bet somebody wanted a 50# bow.

That about what I though, felt like the Mag limbed bow down 3 turns. Not only did the guy swap the limbs around, I also got 'extra sets of modules' which turned out to be two mini mods, a top and bottom , both the threaded side, two 65% x mods, both the threaded side and two HL x mods both the countersunk side. So it looks like he also mixed up the mods, someone out there has a Nitrous camed bow that has mixed modules on, Do you suppose that it's hard to tune?

Sounds like he was playing around with different mods to maximize the performance of the bow. I did this and know that if shooting at the bottom end of the draw length range with standard modules you can change the feel of the bow and boost performance by changing to the mini mods and shooting it at or near the top end of their draw length range.
