my father bought a new firecat and the dealer set him up with some arrows i think are under spined. he shoots 27 1/2 DL, they gave him 26 7/8" easton st epic 400 shafts. im thinking he will be forced to shoot at 55lbs and a 100gr BH with this. Am I off base? He wants to shoot 65-70lbs and use 125gr BHs.

At 65- 70 lbs 400 spine should be good, though i would use 100 gr. BH, going to 125 will weaken the spine a bit more...:)

Im shooting gold tip 5575's which are a 400 spine with 100 gr. rages and shooting at 70lbs. and 28" draw works great for me.

He should be just fine at 65# with a 125 grain head. Getting up around 70# I'd try them but probably a 100 grain head would work better. He is certainly not underspined with 27" 400 spine at 65#.

Maybe you're not entering the right data into OT2, but don't take computer programs as gospel either. They're just like paper charts. Just a guideline.
