I live in a small rural town not near anything and a local store has a Cougar III that has been sitting on their rack for a long time they are selling it on clearance for 199.00 cad just the bow with no accessories. Is that a decent deal or should I keep looking?

Is there any problems with that series of bow like cracking limbs etc that I should know about before I consider buying this bow.

I am new to Archery/hunting and what I am looking for is a bow that I can use for target as well as hunt anything in North America. I don't care about the latest and greatest the fastest or best just dependable use time after time with no problems also Accuracy is a must.

The Cougar lll is a fine bow, I use to have one of the "target color" models...just make sure the Fury cams (?) will attain your draw length, they are DL specific...Nitrous, or, Furious cams have an adjustable DL capability. ;)

Update on the information I was given the wrong specs on the bow. The bow I am looking at is a 07 Cougar C4, Dynacam, Magnum limbs, 45-60lb (guy at store said the bow comes set at the highest draw weight 60lb) draw weight, 26"-31" draw length. for 199.00 cad no case or any accessories.

Wish they would bring it back. Bring it back! I love my Cougar Magnum (Nitrous C's).

I know this is probably a dumb question but, what kind of F.P.S. (actual) could I expect from this bow?

The C4 was advertised with
DynaCam and 16"-limbs: 300 fps
DynaCam and 14"-limbs: 310 fps
