View Full Version : I finally did it.

I bought my first bow. Martin Moab, King Cobra single pin sight, Quality Archery Designs Ultra Rest fall away rest, Tru Fire Hurricane Glove release. I love it...I must admit I have the bug. I will be deer and moose hunting with it in the next few days. I have a question/remark. Is it common for your string to fray so frequently...every 10 arrows or so. I am continually waxing.

Strings and serving fraying seems to be a common issue. With the Moab and all the Martin bows that have the CCS and single cam, I would recommend serving the string around the idler wheel and where the string goes through the CCS. Also, as others have noted in previous posts, when you take the string off to serve it, check to make sure the wheel spins freely and also check to make sure that the inside edges of the wheel are not rough, which would cause fraying to the string or serving.
