Looks like you already have everything on your bow to make it silent  If you have lowered the poundage may be this is the reson. Also if you have some of the accesories not tightened enough? I'm not a specialist in bow noise reduction, because i am a target shooter not a hunter , so hope the other guys will help you more :)

Tom,

How is the cam orientation? There are certain sweet spots or "spots" in the cam's rotation that make it more quiet. Often the bow can be noisy if the cam is over rotated.

Any way you can post a picture of the cam?

I too have a cheetah and it sounds really loud, Im going to jump in and post a pic of my cam later. I sure wish we could get this figured out, its the only thing im not 100% happy with on my cheetah.

i also unfortunately have 2 broken strands in my string due to my "wonderful" pro shop guy putting my peep sight in, could that be causing some of the noise?

OK Tom, the cam doesn't look all that bad. If anything it's slightly under rotated, which shouldn't cause noise. I was going to ask whether you had an STS, but I see it's already got that. The only other thing with the STS to check is it's location in reference to the string. Most people set them up for a slight gap between the bumper and the string---maybe 1/16" or a little less. How's yours?

What's the draw weight and length set for. How long are the arrows?

I don't think this little item matters either, but I notice you have the draw stop set to it's max setting. Are really drawing the bow that far? In other words, at full draw does the bow feel a little mushy or is there a solid wall?

Just for conversational purposes I see you're stationed at McGuire. As in Air Force or are you civilian? I ask because I have a brother lives close by in Browns Mills. I'm not that far away by internet standards---125 miles. Maybe I could look you up next time I'm visiting him.

Push comes to shove you could take the bow to the Sportsman Center north of you on Rte. 206. Maybe shoot it there and they can come up with some ideas. I'm pretty sure they have a couple decent technicians there. Not putting you off by any means. Sometimes hands-on is the best way to figure things out.

im active duty, but as far as the bow goes, i shoot 70# 30"dl
29.5" easton powerflight 300(9.5 gpi)
100gr broadheads

i have a solid wall at full draw and my STS is set up to touch my string at rest.
one ? tho, is it better to have my STS angled toward my nock point or cam, right now its toward my nock point?

sportsmens center is very good, i was talking about one individual at "the other place"

i do actually have a little "mush" at full draw, never realized untill now, i will try moving the draw stop back a hair

Harry's Army & Navy? Gotta watch them Navy guys---LOL.

About the STS, just common sense on my part, but I think they are more effective angled more toward the center of the string so I'd say yours is OK.

Have you tried shooting the bow without the STS? I had one on my 2008 Bengal and it made too much noise,so i removed it.Tried different distances between the rubber stopper and string to no avail.Maybe there was something I overlooked.I'm too much of an amateur to really tell what difference the STS made anyway. All I can say is my bow shoots okay and is a lot quieter without the STS.

i may have to try that, esp. since the STS i have on it isnt the one martin sells, i just cut down the one i had on my old bow

I had an 08 bengal that was loud and I tried a lot of different things and finally found the noise was coming from the draw stop. Im not sure why but when I took it off the noise was gone. Seeing how I like a good solid wall I put it back on and just dealt with the noise. Good luck, Kenny

Becareful with that draw stop, we were adjusting my draw legnth last nite at the shop and forgot to also adjust the draw stop twice, bow locked in full draw twice because the cables came off the cams. First time scared the crap out of me, second time we knew right away what the problem was.

That's odd... What's the bow and what's the cam/s? The MPro can be shoot without the draw stop and i guess the M2Pro also.

2010 tr2 firecat, we were making the draw shorter than
what it was set at factory. Yes freeked me out the first time it locked in full draw and string was loose

Well , obviously the new cams need a draw stop. You had quite unpleasant experience - hope now everything is OK :)

My Dad has a 07 Martin Bengal that was just as noisy. He discovered that the closer the STS is to your cam, the quieter the bow is. I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help you out. Some bows are just harder to quiet than others.
