Do I have a 2009 or 2010 Firecat ?

Weird question I know. But look here:

The sticker on my Bow has a serial number that starts with 09, plus I got it in late 09 so I'd think it was an 09 right ? On my limbs, someone has written "8/09" on the side in silver sharpie marker, so you would think that meant it was an 09. Also, its got a decal that says "Firecat Pro-X" and not "Firecat TR-2" or anything so again you'd think 09.

But the cam on my firecat says "C.A.T.2" machined onto the side. Thats the 2010 Firecat Cam isn't it ?

The serial number means it was built in '09. The limb deflection written on the limbs mean they were made in '09. Don't frret over this. I just put '10 limbs on my 2008 Cat and they are marked as 11/09 as the date of manufacture. The Cat2 cams mean you have '10 cams. It very well could be you have what I'd call either a late '09 or an early '10 version. Yeah, like I just told you something you didn't figure out??????

If your intentions were to buy and '09 then be happy. You have one with better cams. One sure way to know is to measure the width of the limb tips. Martin changed the limbs for '10. They are now 1.5" wide at the limb tips. Older limbs were closer to 1 7/8".

I really hope somebody answers this for you because I'm in the same boat. My pro shop guys swears he ordered me a 2010, but the number on the limbs say '09 and the box said '09 I've got the cat cams too, which I think the '09's have.

is it not unheard of to get a Franken-bow with different parts from different years ?

I would say that is not unheard of but i say that you have a late 2009 firecat.
With the late models they kind of "experimented" by putting their new cams on them before the 2010's came out. So this is a good thing :D
