If you untwisted your cables, your brace height should have gotten smaller. not larger.

From what 2 points are you measuring your brace height from?

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can get a Mystic down to 30 lbs? In order to do so, you would really have to play with it, but I also doubt it would be within specs by the time you are done with it.

if it has 40# max limbs on it, it will go down to 25#

According to the 2009 catalogue, the mystic came in #50, #60 & #70 lbs. Unless it was a special order limbs.

Madlaz, what is the poundage of your limbs?

What is the limb deflection on the limbs that you have? it is on the side of the limbs by the limb bolts, you will have to back the limb bolts out two or three turns to see them, it is painted on the sides, it will say something like 2H or 3L or something like that,

Sure.. Mrs.Squid has a (custom ordered) 40# Mystic/Elite/Furious-X.
I believe it has 1H or 2L llimbs on it.

Limb deflection is 1H

If you have 1H limbs on it, it should have 40# limbs on it, just back the limb bolts out, you know you can turn the limb bolts out up to 5 ful turns, it will go down about 3# with each ful turn.

I stand corrected :D:eek::p

I figured the only way you could get it that low would be by custom order.

I'm back. Been in the Caribbean scuba diving this past week. Now I have some catching up to do.

Madlaz,

The specs for your bow or any other for that matter are measured with the limbs bottomed. That means brace height and A2A. Considering the problem you are having I think I'd start from scratch. Bottom the limbs and set the bow to specs and see what draw weight you have. The bow should be close to 40# or maybe a few pounds higher.

The specs (brace and A2A) are not going to be the same with the limbs backed off. Don't worry about it.

If you don't want to start over then I would suggest taking twists out of the string. You've already done the cables. This should, if I'm thinking right, reduce the preload on the limbs, which should drop the draw weight and brace height. It's also going to make the draw length longer as the cams will have a different orientation. If you have adjustment on the module use it.

Being as I've been away a while I have to get my brain back in gear. If I'm wrong then a couple of the other guys can correct me.
