I just got an '09 Firecat not long ago. Had everything set up perfectly, then I recently changed the draw length and weight. Changed to 1/2 inch longer draw (28 inches), added about 5 pounds to the draw weight, now at 70#. It's maxed on draw weight. Everything seems to be shooting well, getting good tears through paper out to 30 yards. Cams are hitting as close to perfect as I can possibly tell. The tiller is a good 1/4 inch off, with the upper part of the string being the farthest away. Wondering if this is normal? Also shooting field points perfectly, but getting a good deal of fishtail (actually a circular rotation of the fletch end) with broadheads. Shooting a Victory V1 Nano Force arrow at 28 inches. 100 grain Shuttle T locks, Quickspin vanes. I know the arrow is spined right, broadheads are straight with the shafts, so kind of at a loss as to the rotation. Anyone got any ideas?

i personally think a lot of people put too much thought into "fine tuning"(myself included), if the arrows are hitting in the same spot. leave it alone. i messed with my firecat for months, yes months and im back to just about where it was new from the factory(only a few more twist to the cables). good luck with your tuning, im just saying sometimes too much of something can be just as bad as not enough.

Thanks ez, appreciate the help. Haven't shot it with broadheads since I found out that even though I had it tuned well, it was off with everything else. ATA, BH, etc. Looking forward to what it might do now that the bow is set right to start with. lol Thanks again!

If you have an odd colored fletch for a cock vane are you sure you just aren't seeing the arrow spin due to an offset mor helical fletch? Sometimes it gives and optical illusion.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure it is more than just an optical illusion. The rear is swinging a 2-3 inch arc. After asking around on here, I've found out just how badly out of tune (ATA, BH, Tiller) my bow was. I thought it had been set up correctly by the rep, but apparently not. I haven't tried it again with broadheads since I have set adjusted the ATA, BH, and tiller though, so time will tell. Thanks again for the help!
