Does anyone know the Martin recommendation for minimum grains per inch for a recurve such as the Jaguar Takedown. Is it 5 gpi ? I know Black Widow is like 8 gpi. I don't want to buy too light of arrows. Thanks.

I've not seen any specs on GPI for the Jaguar, but would recommend you stay in the 6-8 (or even a little higher) with the recurve. It's going to shoot slower than a compound and I think you'll benefit from the heavier weight in the penetration category.
You will also recover some speed from a heavier arrow by installing a FF string rather than the Dacron string it comes with. If speed is critical for you, just stick with a compound. At bowhunting (esp. recurve) distances, speed is not a factor; accuracy and penetration are most important in all cases.
