Hello I recieved my new limbs on thursday. They look great I think there Barnsdale limbs. I also recieved a 2nd set which look very similar to the limb that came on the bow but a little thicker all the way around they have a thick clear reasin coating on them. I was told in testing the bow was held on draw machine for 3 weeks at full draw with no failure until the string broke.

The question is how many times it was shot after the 3 weeks at full draw ;)

Barnsdale is right.

I'm kind of curious about just where the string broke. And why.
And just why they use that as a test.
At full draw - there is only about 10-16lbs. of pressure on things with the cams let-off...
??? gets my wheels turning...
I would think that they would want to test them at max DW but could be that I am thinking about it all wrong.
Or did they test fire it in a shooting machine for 3 weeks straight?
Hhmmm...

Well if they've kept shooting the bow for 3 weeks that's ... let's see ....about 500 hours, or 30000 minutes, let's say 2 shots a minute - 60 000 shots. Quite impressive! (if Spiker's assumption is correct)

My local dealer recieved a set of Barnsdale limbs for my Shadowcat and two days later another set showed up for my bow. The second set should have been for my Firecat not my Shadowcat. THE NEW LIMB LOOKS GREAT. I have shipped the limbs back and the correct new limbs are on the way. The red layer is gone. They called it a composite limb it has a white layer inside and the glass is thicker and is darker in color ,solid black. I was told by someone at Martin, they have been testing and shooting this new limb for a couple of months and have had no failures. It was shot for many hours and put through some tough test. I was told Some of the testing went way beyond what the the limbs were designed or intended to do and had no problems. Some of the stuff he said was nuts. Its great to see them taking care of people who are having limb issues. but I know 2 people who have had there bow since Dec. and have no problems with limbs.

This is what the scammers expect, the check will NY Escort (http://www.nyasiandreamgirls.com) only bounce about 3 weeks to a month later at which point your bank will take back the money leaving you short of the shipping money. The best way of avoiding this fraud is not to sell your vehicle to someone who wants to pay the shipper.I NY Escorts (http://www.nyasiandreamgirls.com) hope all this hasn't scared you away from the Internet, If you are sensible and wary about offers that seem too good to be true then you should be Ok, just NY Asian Escorts (http://www.nyasiandreamgirls.com) apply the same commonsense you use in everyday life, after all if a stranger walked up to you in the street and said "Hi I am from your bank what's NY Asian Escort (http://www.nyasiandreamgirls.com) your credit card number and PIN"

Forgive me for asking but what does this post have to do with anything in this thread. Perhaps removing it would be the way to go.
Just a thought.

Jim4, as you can see this post has been posted by a spam bot as this post comes up in many threads here. The only way to get rid of these posts is to hit the small red triangle in the right upper corner and report it so that an admin will chime in and remove them.

Simon shared this info with me some time back. I used to ask the same question till he told me they are just spambots. Now I don't even mess with them. I just ban them and get it over with. Admin is responsible for cleaning the crap off the site.

i just got the replacement limbs for the new shadowcat, they look exactly like the old ones ! they have the red line , and don't look any thicker or ground any different. I have a feeling this isn't going to turn out any better than the first set that didn't last 2 weeks!!!!!

Hello.
I have friends who have had the 5 layer limb with the red line since Dec. with no problems. Is the glass real dark black or do they exactly like the old limbs gray in color. I was sent Barnsdale limbs and my 60lb bow maxed out at 66lbs. I have turned down to 55lbs 4 turns out on the limb bolts. Barnsdale limbs have two white layers in them and come on all Rytera Bows. The new limb has a white core on the insde and you can see it from the back side by the limb bolt hole in the limb.

Barnsdales should have a 3 digit deflection number - 135, 142 etc...
Martins should have one digit then either a L, M or H - 3H, 5M etc...

Why are they called "Barnsdales"? Is that the batch name or where they were manufactured or something

And whats the equivalent to a 5H in this 3 digit deflection number?

Yes, I have to know everything lol! :D

Barnsdale is an old man who makes limbs for a long time. He is known for his superior limbs made out of wood but also for his knowledge in modern limbs. Most companies (beside Hoyt, Mathews and Martin) advertise their bows with Barnsdale limbs.

My thought always is that also Barnsdale cannot secure his own quality if more and more limbs have to be made for different manufacturers.

I have a Nemesis and an Alien X with Barnsdale 136's on them and a Firecat with 2H's. All three bows max out between 61#-63#.

I have to chime in here. Maybe I missed something, but FYI my youngest child is 30 years old so I do know what old is. For the most part I don't act my age; at least according to my wife.

Actually i do not know Mr. Dave Barnsdale. I always assumed that he is in the same age range as Gail Martin or Hoyt senior and that would mean 'old man' even to Barry. :P

The times were 30 was considered old are over. I think that is around 20 years ago, isn't it?

My youngest is 7, my oldest is 36, I have 6 grand children.
And I dont feel anywhere near old yet and have no plans of slowing down.

LOL! And so you shouldn't ;) Besides, what the age you should be acting as probably would change on a daily basis in the eyes of most women.......uh oh....oops.....now I'm in for it :(
