I ahve never dealt with Barnesdale, but know for a fact that he has for decades made the best limbs available for any bow. So NO, it's not a matter of farming out their limb business. It's simply getting the best limbs for their best bows.
Got the answer today, right from the horses mouth...Barnsdale limbs were used up until a certain date (unspecified). All current bows have Martin in house limbs.
My AX was built in march and has the Barnsdale limbs.

Just who is "the horse's mouth". Makes me wonder because I got my bow May 22. It was built and shipped about week earlier and definitely has Barnesdale limbs. I'd like to know what the cutoff date was.

A little curious as to who exactly the horse is, as I have a recent email (April 15) from Dave Barnsdale stating that his company makes the limbs for Rytera.
The horses mouth was Martin/Rytera customer service! My bow does have Barnesdales..All Barnesdales will have a 3 digit # on the limb. All Martin in house will have a letter then a # on the limb.
I was told that all of the Newer, within the last few weeks will have a 5 layer laminate Martin limb.
