Im shooting a Cheetah, 70lb, 30.5 inch draw
I bought Carbon express Mayhem arrows. They are very nice, too nice to keep practicing with. What would you suggest for a little bit cheaper carbon arrow. I was thinking the gold tip. The current arrows are 30 1/8 inch and are 9.8 gpi with a .347 spine.

Are you losing arrows? If not, keep practicing with them. Shoot at a target that has multiple bulls and only shoot one arrow per bull.

Good luck.

yes, one is stuck in the garage, on field tip is also stuck there and ive ripped of 2 different blazer vanes. I replaced the vanes so those are now good, and the field tip is replaced. But I would like to have 12 or so arrows and buying 6 mayhems are spendy. Maybe ill just get 6 mor of them though.

Gold Tip XT Hunters are 8.9gpi and the 7595's are 340 spine.
Shafts run about $75 per dozen around here.

I may give those a try. If i get a lighter arrow I should only need to tweek the sights.

Can be a bit of a problem swapping from different weight shafts, really should practice with the same weight shaft. Not impossible to do though. :)

I think Ill just increase my collection of the Mayhems...they are super sweet.

Better idea. After all, your practice is important too. I don't think practicing with lower quality shafts will help you to be more consistent, in fact, it might mess you up.

So better to shoot a cheaper shaft to begin with if the budget is tight. :)

I wasnt suggesting using a different arrow to just practice with. I was making a suggestion for a little less expensive arrow that is very good quality and can be used for all your archery pursuits. Plus the GT's are a bit lighter and will give you a bit more speed but still be plenty heavy enough to hunt with.

I got that, I think im just leaning toward what I alreay have now. Thanks for the suggestion. Im guessing 1/2 dozen more arrows at a higher price will be simpler since I am already pretty dialed

i am shooting beman 400 spline(394grn) @ 70#s and 30 inches of draw.... and it needs no broadhead tuning outside my paper tuning. but they are splined lighter than the suggested..... so i picked up some GT 7595 and cut them the same length,(410grn) and they shoot left like they are splined too heavy....(left) with broadheads..... they shoot great with just field points though...... think i should retune for the heavier arrows? or just run the lighter spline?

im thinking im shooting about 290ish. i need to get my chrono back from my buddy. lol he was disappointed that i was shooting faster than his firecat TR2. i think our arrows are within a grain of eachother. gunna go out tomarrow night. i dont know if im gunna do a town tag for a doe or look for my buck. thanks for the compliment.

~edit: last time i chronoed it was with 394 grain arrow at 29inches and 70#s at 284fps, now im shooting at 30inch draw.... i got a shorter release =D~
