I own an original M44 Firecat which I purchased new in about 1990. It hes been in a closet for the last 18 years ( moved around alot and didn't have the room or time to get back into shooting). I would like to replace the cables before I try shooting it again but I can't seem to find a source. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post a good pic and/or do you know what cams are on it.
Depending on the cams and ATA length - I may be able to tell you the cable/string lengths that it uses.
Does it still have a limb sticker with specs on it?
Lancaster Archery (http://www.lancasterarchery.com/) should be able to build new cables.
Also, at least up untill a year or so ago, Martin would still re-cable the older bows.
May want to give them a call and see if they will help you.

p.s. I have a couple M-44's. A 'G' and an 'XR'.

My Martin Saber is in the 1990's and has the old tear drop steel cables. Some in the 90's had regular cables and strings. I agree with spiker a pic would help greatly. If you have steel cables and decide to do the your self make sure you get the cable ferrules done by the ferrule crimping tool. It looks like bolt cutters but crimps the ferrule perfect.
