I'm posting these pics of HawgEnvy's Cougar III with Nitrous C cams since he can't post pics with his phone yet. He said that he's thinking of selling it on eBay, and would like to know the year of the bow.

You'd have to know that with the Nitrous cams it has to be 2004-2007, unless it was altered along the way.

OK, have to edit this. It can't be 2007. That's the year they went to APG camo and this bow is Mossy Oak Breakup so that ought to narrow it down some more.

Also, if the bow still has a limb sticker, the first two digits of the serial number designate the year of the bow.

hey, thanks for posting pics for me. It has a sticker on the bottom limb, but not a printed one. It was hand written in ink and has worn off and no longer legible.

Take a few more pics of the full riser, out side in day light. Send them to us again and that will give Arrow Splitter something to do!;)

HawgEnvy, pretty tough to identifiy the bow, need a look at the riser, and preferably in daylight, real tough to see when every thing is dark.

Yes, I now know how you get your post count up.lol:D:D

Mossy Oak Break-Up, Nitrous cams and being a Cougar " III " probably gets it down to either a 2004 or 2005 Cougar III Magnum........looking at Martin catalog links there isn't a lot of difference.

2004 Martin Cougar III Magnum: 36 1/2" ATA, 6 5/8" BH, Claimed 320fps IBO
http://www.martinarchery.com/catalogs/Martin_2004_Bow_Catalog.pdf
2005 Martin Cougar III Magnum: 36 7/8" ATA, 6" BH, Claimed 320fps IBO

Just just going off the little darker grip color, I'm leaning toward the 2005.

I just sent more pics(hopefully more helpful) to AS. I'm thinking the limbs are interchangeable. Limb pics are the C3 next to my '08 Cheetah and measure the same width. Would there be any advantage to a Cheetah Nitrous X custom or would I just be rendering one bow useless?

Where are the pics? Where did you send them to?

I don't know whether a Cheetah Nitrous will work. I'm thinking that you'd loose a lot of draw length changing to such a short bow. And if the Cheetah is a 2010 there isn't enough space between the limb forks for the Nitrous cams. That'd be one screaming Cheetah though.

He sent them to me, since he can't upload pictures with his phone yet. AS is my user name abbreviation.

The deck is still standing.:D:cool:
I only use a shovel about 10% of the time, because I like my 8 horses of snow moving power(see attached image).:D

I'd say we have around 4-5 feet of snow, and we got sleet and rain on top of that today.:(

How thirsty are those 8 horses? Gas was $3.30 my last stop.
Looks like an 04 riser.

Not very thirsty at all. One tank of gas will usually do one entire yard cleanup without running out. Our gas price was $3.21 a couple days ago.

Yes, I was just noticing how we are all going off topic. :o
I truly don't know. You'll have to wait for more input from other members.

Btt.... yes you can change limb's, cam's is it to heavy on draw to long. what is it that you wish to change..;)
here i thought you just wanted to know the year ( 04 just like my elite) that has already had 2 set of limbs on it..

'04. Good to know. Thank you. As far as limb change goes, I'm not looking to accompolish anything specific. Just wondering if it could be done if I wanted to. What would it accompolish? Longer ata, more BH...with the limb/cam swap. Maybe just convert the cheetah to Nitrous cam using original limbs. I just like to tinker n build stuff. Someday, I'll have my own line of bows:cool:

I was searching for a solid double cam bow to go with what I already had. Just as luck would have it, I ran into HawgEnvy. I now own the bow in the pictures, well sorta. I have been giving it a new paint job. The bow no longer has the camo riser. It will/is matte black riser with Satin Oregano (olive color) limb pockets. I purchased a new hand grip for it and a cover plate for the Martin Whisker Buiscit slot. I replaced the string silencers with newer ones, added a new tru-glo carbon 4 pin sight, installed a drop away rest, and a new cable gaurd. I will be adding new custom strings and cables soon. I am happy as a dirty old fart! Thanks again HawgEnvy for the fun toy!

I'm glad things are working out for you. Something I just noticed (missed before) is that the limb tips are of the reinforced variety. From everything I know that means if the limb measure 1 7/8" wide then they are either 2008 or 2009 limbs. Martin changed to the narrower 1 1/2" wide limbs in 2010 and the Nitrous cams won't fit between the limb forks without some nasty modifications. Ask Montalaar. He did this with his 2010 ShadowCat.

Come to think of it, these have to be 2008 or 2009 limbs. The 2010 and later limbs won't fit those limb pockets.
