View Full Version : Cheeta for young girl?

I have to admit I come late to the Martin brand so I need some advice. My nephew's 10 year old daughter is interested in archery and wants to participate in 4H in archery. He says he has a deal on a Cheeta package with a dozen arrows, etc. I advised him to check the draw weight and draw length but beyond that I know nothing about this bow. Is it a bow that has adjustable draw and poundage? Is it suitable for a pretty healthy 10 year old girl? BTW the price on the package is $200.

Thanks for any help.

Shortly - No. She needs a lighter bow - in both meanings. I hope Martin will make someday a bow for children/small women which will perform more like the Pro Series. The Leopard needs to be renewed or PSE will take these customers.

Even a 50# Cheetah would be a too much for a 10yr old. A 40# Leopard may even be a bit much just starting out unless she is big for her age, but would be worth a look if you can find one at a dealer close by.

I really wish they had some more offerings for the youngsters, something along the line of the nuclear ice and razors edge would really cover all the bases for them.

if you got luck and could manage a limb swap..maybe but realy martin needs to bring back the trigress.. keep in mind you can run um 15lbs light just with backin of limb bolts.. my 14 year old G daughter pulls 40#
her sister 12 is @30.. as new archers it was 23# just for some refrence..

Tell ya what ole 4x5 would say..."dont over bow the kid", keep it light :D
