i just installed the ccs and sts cloaked combo to my 2010 cheetah and was wondering if i need to change my limbs or make any modifications to bow. my bow was at 62lbs and aflter installing ccs is at 71lbs if i bottom out my limbs i get 80lbs is this ok or should i switch limbs. my limbs say 5m does this meen anything. any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

Wow. Apparently there is a lot more preload on the limbs.

We'll have to see what the experts say. In the mean time firing off an email to Martin wouldn't be a bad idea.

The ccs usually gives about 5# more so you need a half inch longer cable as far as i know. In your case you have 9# more so i wouldn't use the bow before it's carefully inspected. But let's see what the other guys here will tell you - i'm not a specialist on the ccs.

Installing 1/2" longer cables is what Martin does with most of the bows. By locking the cables to a fixed position like the roller guard it not only puts more preload on the limbs, but it increases the bow's draw length. With the increase you have I'm not so sure I wouldn't go 3/4" longer with a cable just to be on the safe side. You could always twist it up a tad if need be.

I don't imagine that you had marked the side of your cam where it passes through the limb fork (pencil works). If you didn't then too bad as this would have given you a visual reference on where to reset the cam. I'm sure that the cam orientation is changed, too.

Had to edit and add. I would recommend posting some pictures of the cam orientation to see what needs to be done. These guys here can help with it.

The 5m on your limb is the limb deflection code.

Here is a post that bfischer describes how the deflection numbers work post #2 http://martinarchery.com/mtechforum/showthread.php?9174-Mystic-limbs#post43076

Your 5M limbs are for a 70# bow, most bows will peak appox. 1.5-2#'s over the marked draw weight. Your bow should have peaked around 71-72#'s with the standard rod and slide, the CCS as was explained before will add appox. 5-6#'s. A new cable 1/2" longer should bring the peak weight back down to around 71-72#'s. Probably not a good idea to shoot the bow right now with the limbs maxed, I would take about 3 turns out of each limb bolt before shooting it.

if i add a 1/2 inch longer string will it lengthen my draw length, because i am on my shortest mod and i cant have it any longer because my arms are short. thanks again.

You have the wrong idea. If you want to shorten the draw a bit you put on a shorter string and/or longer cable. You could even do a half inch on both.

Make the cable 1/2" longer and this will help shorten the draw length and lower the draw weight.

Make the string 1/2" shorter and it will shorten the draw that much while lowering the draw weight.

Bear in mind that cam orientation won't be the same. The bow will feel different, but may be more quiet and the bow's specs will change, but if it helps the bow fit you better and you like how it feels then make your own specs and be happy.
