My longest kill shot was 51 yards on a doe a few years back! I practice at around fourty yards and thought it was only a couple yards past that I made a bad shot spent most of the next day on the blood trail before I finally found her. I try to take only good clean shots now because spending half the day tracking isn't much fun!

We need safety parameters established. That way we know to either wear knee boots, hip waders, and with what polaris754 has, Chest waders.

Longest, just play around, 110 yards. I was challenged to hit a Delta Buffalo from the flag pole at our club. First shot way short, second hit about 10 yards short and 3rd shot hit about a finger width right of the 10 ring.

No Super Shooter involved..I had a few arrows fall short, but all in all not bad shooting for my first time shooting 100 yards. The Truglo Range Rover can do about 90-95 yards on my Jaguar.:cool: You won't be disappointed with yours.

With the MOAB: without a target - about 220 m, at a target (40X60cm) - 100 metres.
With a recurve: a 2l plastic bottle from 90m(100 yards) - i think that's my best shot ever :)

I've shot 80 yds in NFAA field rounds (marked distance) and I've shot 60 yds in the American round. Last week I shot 187 yds, but I just out into the cornfield to see how far it go.

I shot 60 yards at a target (the big foam block) and let's just say at least I found the arrow. Of course I only have 2 pins 20 and 30 yards. Just trying to see how close I could get.

One a deer, 35 yards. Every other deer has been within 25 yards. Longest shot on a target was 125. A 2 foot square target, stuck 4 out of 5 in it, but with no grouping at all. With my old FC, I was shooting 2-2 1/2 in groups at 60 yards religiously. With the new FC400, I get about 6 inch groups at 70 yards.

Just recently with the new Bengal out to 60 yards into the small block type target. I've always been a 40 yd. and under shooter because in my mind I was only focused on my hunting situations. But due to some of the conversation on this site I decided to stretch it a bit. It is a challenge. I'm working towards 80 yds. but it'll be a while.

18 years now with my Pro Safari. :p

Along that line, Bought my Darton Fury ( now ES's ) in 1972, and shot it last Nov.
At targets, couldn't tell you how many times I've shot the 80 yd WU in a field round, but I do have my 4-20 pin for it. Back in the late 60"s, the wife and I went to a lot of novelty shoots, one of them, the Fresno Safari always had a clout shoot at about 140 yds, I always managed to hit it. In fact saw my first coupound there, and was amazed at how flat it shot, compared to the Hoyt Pro Metalist I was shooting. Longest shot with a compound was 103 yds at Babe, a 3D Blue elephant, just out of the kill. :D

No problem. Get you a scuba tank and regulator. That way you'll be able to breathe no matter how deep it gets. It doesn't help with the smell though.

I just recently moved my little black hole layered target out to 65 yards with the new Silencer. Groupings aren't too bad, but will be much better once my Smooth Stability stab arrives! Then I'll be shooting out to 80 yards, with some more practice

un measured not sure used to fling arrows all over the place as a kid shoot at stuff just to see if i could hit it some of them from a long ways off.. last spring I drew my Bow an aimed Sky ward in a large field like i did as a kid Just to show my son How far my arrow would go.. He asked I showed him rather he see me do it them try him self.. any one care to guess How far a 500 grain arrow will go outa a 70 lb bow will go ...OUTASIGHT. to fall back to earth 100 yards away..
Know distance I hit a peanut @ 103 yards twice...lol 3D Elephant our club has.. lots of 80's,like to practice @ longer distance makes the shorter shots easyer

:) I shoot only my trad bows in the sky. With the compounds it's not fun - the arrow vanishes after about 100m. May be it'll be fun to shoot an arrow with a lumenock in the night sky. At least people will know where to find you in case the arrow lands in your head ;)

This year so far the longest was at a 3D bowshoot yesterday. They has a Buffalo target at 66 yds. Like to say I "X" ringed it, but I choked.....hit high just outside the "8" in the shoulder.

I use to practice on a 100yds range quite a bit decades ago, and a few of my hunting buddies and I use to launch arrows a long ways out into in dry meadow at our hunting camp to see who could get closest to a small dark bush.........can't remember what we measured it at, but it was every bit of 300yds and a couple of us overshot it now and then.

shot at deer a couple of years ago at 83 yards and didn't hold high enough. arrow fell about a foot short, deer just stood there looking at where arrow hit the grass and then booked out of there like his butt was on fire.:(

The range I go to has a 4' x 4' square target with the print of an elk set out at 80 yards. I only have up to a 60 pin. Raised a little skyward, I hit the target at the bottom middle. A little higher and I hit right above his shoulders below his antlers. Needless to say, I was just happy I hit the target! lol

I do shoot out to 60 yards every once in a while, and shoot at 40 quite regularly. When I really concentrate, I cant put 2/3 in the 2" circle at 40, but usually hit groups about 5-6" at that distance... I need to practice more! ;)

I shot at a 3d buffalo at 150yards and hit it about 8" from the bullseye. I think if you set your pin for 150 yards it would be no problem.

On a deer 50 yards, spined her. On a target about 80 with Wabbit a couple weeks ago. I can say that I hit what I was aiming at, at 3'x3' bag target. Past that, I hit the target (my pins only go to 60 and I hadnt sighted in 50 and up yet). When I was a kid I hit the neighbors field at 200 yards. I got to full draw and somehow my right foot slipped into a hole and I released the arrow with the bow pointed up at about 45 degrees. I found the arrow 2 fields over. Oops.
