I did use a old apple press with the rope but got rid of it now i will have to try just back limb bolts out to let tension off strings to change or adjust them.

Just kidding with ya! that is the way I use to do it but a vise is much easier. So I welded up a few simple ones. Now I am just getting a feel for what is on the market.

I bolted my treestand bow holder to a piece of 2x6, leveled it up, and clamped it to the kitchen bar counter. Then I secured the bow to the holder with velcro straps. It worked. Probably could have made it on http://thereifixedit.failblog.org/, but it worked. :D

Wife wasn't too happy, though.

Yes, that's the one. But this one is to darn expensive, but good. The apple one is good and only half the price.

picked up a Cobra vise at Cabelas bargain cave. works pretty good. different from a lot of other vises in that the bow is held with a fixture that screws into the stab fitting.

Apple economy vise, good solid vise and I've had it for at least 10 years now. Looked at the HTM last year as well as the RS, would like to have one of those two at some point..........

I tried the "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission" approach. I eventually got booted to the garage as well.

Pretty Simple(;)) ,Bar vise,12: small square tubing, bolt, and u-bolt.Nice cause you can rotate it to work on both ends on the bow.only thing you have to take your stab off.
