If you look at the spec sheet they are identical. If you look in the brochure, the specs are identical. If you look at them individually on the martin website, it states that the Silencer is 31.25" ATA, where as the Firecat is 32.5" ATA.

I like the riser of the Firecat better, and igiven the choice I'd prefer a longer ATA. But they just raised the price from $599 to $619, which makes the $566 price of the Silencer a tad more appealing...

I've been to the 3 local martin shops around here, no one had the Onza or the Silencer to compare. I did shoot the Firecat and enjoyed it though...

its all cosmetic. i asked this question when i got my FC400. my dealer went to the show and asked too. and the martin rep there said the only real difference is the hook in the riser.

And you bought the FC because you liked the riser better, right?

I understand, and prefer the look of the firecat riser. But for $53 I might go with the Silencer, given everything else is the same.

i went with the firecat because i have an 08 firecat and its a great bow so didnt figure i could go wrong and depending where the cams are adjusted on the cat changes how smooth she is

Plus that hook makes a dandy bow hanger. lol I've shot both bows, and honestly couldn't tell a difference. I got a FC400 to replace my old FC, but if I was buying another one, it would be the Silencer. I like the lighter weight for hunting. Not a real big deal, but that extra 1/4 pound does show up after a while carrying it.

Thanks for that. Looks like I have a tough choice ahead. I've even been thinking of the Onza now that the FC is basically the same price, but no one around here has one to shoot.

Also the Sportsmansguide.com has the 2011 bows in stock now, but they are not a Pro Series dealer... but the Gold series can be had for a steal!

I also own an Onza. lol Yeah, I'm a bow junkie. lol Between it and the FC400, I've got to give the Onza the edge for shootability and accuracy. It's quickly becomming my favorite bow. The only places the FC400 outdoes the Onza is in weight when you are carrying a bow a long distance, and a slight bit of speed. Onza is my turkey bow, FC400 is my deer bow, for now. lol
