Hey everyone, joined the forum because after this weekend I will hopefully be the new owner of a Firecat 400. I was just curious I know bottom end ibo is 335, but what real world speeds can I expect at 29" 70lbs pushing a 390 grain hunting arrow? I love the smooth draw thats what lead me to my decision its gonna be my hunting/ 3d setup and am wanting speed for 3d of course.

Mine at 29 1/4 inch draw, 398 gr. arrow, and 70#'s is shooting 296-298fps. Figure I could squeeze out a couple more fps if I really kept messing with it, but it's shooting too good, and I'm pretty happy with that speed. My targets and the deer don't know how fast the arrow that hit them was going. lol

Thanks guys, I know speed really doesn't mean a whole lot in the hunting sense, I've been shooting an older bear for years now and its ibo rated for 250 but dead is dead now matter how fast your arrow gets there, I kinda figured right around 300 but am happy I've goot some evidence of that now
