Dumb question from a guy been shooting for 3 decades but am having a senior moment and cant remember where brace height is taken from. Same place as setting tiller or from forward most inner part of riser grip from a straight line through axle centers. Either way is way out for my brace ht. 8'' at limb pocket ends, and 6 3/8'' at grip. B/H is listed as 7 5/8'' Hope you can decipher this gibberish!

Brace height is measured from back of the grip to shoot string, deepest part of grip to shoot string is what I meant, as for tiller it is measured from the back of the limb pocket to the shoot string both top compared to the bottom. hope this helps.:)

thanks bbachevy.I realised after I made the post what it was. guess I should remember to put brain into gear before engaging mouth. Now more questions, checked A2A and its 1/8'' long and buss cable is 1/2'' long, ie., buss should be 45'', mine 45 1/2'', A2A should be 42 1/4'' mine 42 3/8''. According to specs for the Cougar 2000 elite brace height should be 7 5/8'', mine is 6 1/2''. Would that relatively small difference in string and cable lengths give such a disparity in brace height?

Yes it possibly can, as you twist the cables back to spec the BH will increase bow poundage will increase also. Thanks:)

I seem to remember brace height is measured from grip to string as is, compared to using a string through axle centers for tiller as it is a single cam. If so it would be 7 1/2'' compared to a listed 7 5/8''. Is the cable length [ 1/2''over] A2A 1/8'' over and brace height -1/8'' under worth altering?

Wouldn't + or - 1/8" be just a few twists of the cable?

You finally got it. Brace height is, indeed, measured from the deepst part of the grip to the shooting string. If yours is 1/8" low and the a2a is a tad short then I would suggest checking the bow's draw weight. If the draw weight is low then twisitng the cables will help. If the draw weight is a little high then twisting the string would help. Be aware that twisitng the cables will also make the draw length a bit longer whereas the string would have the pposite effect. You can always play with the module to correct this.

Thanks Bernie. These days my brain just seems to be in permanent fog. After more careful measurements the cable is actually a little over 1/2'' long , and the A2A is closer to 1/4'' over so twisting the cable seems the way to go. Also the draw weight seems a little down as with the 8m limbs and the limbs almost screwed down its only making about 66lb.I will probably move the string to the 3 post to compensate for any d.l increase. thanks for your input.

Sorry Barry another one of those moments. These days I'm writing my own name on my hand so I can check every so often!
