Got a good deal on this nice 2008 firecat pro-x,it has new 2010 limbs and cat 2 cams, shot it a few times really nice bow.
Only thing im wondering about is how to change DL,it's set at 27" now need to get it to 29".Looks like im really going to enjoy this bow once she's tuned up,well looks like my firecat tr1 will be going to AT classifieds.

actually if he's moving 2", he needs to go 4 holes; they're indexed at 1/2" each...

Nice setup Speedykills. :)

Might pay to keep your tr1 as a backup bow?

Depends on what mods are on the cams, 08's used the standard mods for 26-29" and long draw mods for 29.5-30. If they are the original cat mods you'll need to use the last hole on each mod for 29". If they are 09 and newer mods you'll use the #5 or second to last holes for 29".

Yep last hole was where it needed to go,thanks, now it feels like it should, cant wait to start the tune process.
This is what i was after a speed bow,i guess patience is a virtue.....

If you want to smooth out the draw at the back end and eliminate most of the hump before the valley, you can swap out those mods for the Hybrix/Nitro mods.

Ya it is kind of aggressive cam,ill see how it goes, shot it first time at 29dl with limbs all theway in and ya it really slings them arrows, feels way different than my tr1 but alot faster .need to run through chrono just for grins.

Maybe,i just got my wicked1 string set for it today, will see how bow performs after new string set installed.
I can tell you one thing though after shooting the pro-x for a few days, the tr1 LIMBS ALL THE WAY IN PULLS LIKE BUTTER.very aggresive cat2 cams, but i think in the end someone on AT is going to get a good deal on my tr1.

Its got the acu-trac cam system,as far as speed goes i wont have a chance to chrono it,since i put these new wicked1 strings on by loosening limb bolts,no need to go to pro shop.
I must say though they are very good string set,its served where CCs is,sts, got that clear type serving, well worth what i payed just wish i didnt have to wait that long.
But i like the pro-x better so when i get the new grip from martin installed off to AT it will go.

looking good! and those strings are pretty sharp. Wicked gets pretty high rating on AT. Ru getting the side wood grips? The TR1 is pretty sweet you might miss it! ;)

very nice. They both look like nice shooters. Congrats.

A.S., as far as liking pics to much, I'd rather look at bow pics than nekkid women in mags or TV if that tells you anything. Lol

Ok now that i have some time in on this bow, this has to be the most aggressive cam bow i have shot, really has a tough roll over but once it does you can really hold it pretty good.Ill admit my tr1 is alot smoother, not as heavy and not as fast.
Speed is what im after and i will sacrafice a little forgiveness to get it.One thing that really sticks out is when i switch between 100-125grn heads the impact is the same with the pro-x,were as with the tr1 it drops a few inches. So speed bows do have advantages.
All in all im pretty happy with the pro-x,i wont lie it takes a few to get used to cams but but when i release and split second i hear the whack on my target,i get that oh so good feelin inside....................;)

Put the pro x through the chrono,29DLx64# with a GT 5575 at 372grn arrow=285fps..........used a Gt velocity 352grn at 30"=290fps.Im happy with that you can really tell the speed difference from the TR1 i had.
Also i traded my firecat tr1 for a 2009 alien x blacked out, should be here middle this week, cant wait to see how that one shoots compared to pro x.Heres a pic of it.

Well the alien has landed.........got the alien x with hybrix cams today,ya this thing is fast, and a tack driver.Even though this bow is a 55-70# and my firecat pro is a 45-60# it pulls so smooth.
The riser is wild looking, really like the black look with carbon barnsdale limbs.Cool thing about it is it came with a cable guide and rod and new string just in case i didnt want to go with the ccs.See how long these hammerhead strings and cable hold up.I thought i might not like this bow but im complete opposite on it like it much better than the firecat pro..............Anybody want a good deal on a firecat pro-x......................:)

Ya i guess i could,it would collect dust for awhile,i put all the stuff from it on the AX.Truth be known i really bought this bow to resell as my tr1 wasnt moving on AT,So i made the trade and now i like it better than the pro-x.Well anyway see how it goes i dont keep more than one bow usually.

I'm just the opposite. I won't have less than 2 bows. Both completely rigged and shot regularly so I'm comfortable switching between the two in case something happened to one in the field. I don't like the thoughts of missing a hunt from downed equipment

No ,ive had a few days now with the Alien and its a better shooter than the pro x,big difference in both bows.seems to be a tad faster too, only problem is its so pretty and dont want to ding it up....I checked rytera web site these bows are stil selling for $729.00 and my local pro shop has 2010 left over's selling for $699.00 think i ended up with better deal.............;)
