I have recently purchased a martin saber and it has quickly become my pride and joy. set at 67 odd pound it was grouping my 2315 VERY well (best groupings of my life) and i have found it to be a dream come true. Unforunatly today for no apparent reason the riser broke this has resulted in enough force to bust my nose, bruise my ribs (on the left side), snap my stabilizer and put a very serious dent in the dyna cam when it hit the concrete bellow it. now i am a realist and i am NOT pointing fingers at all, i know that these things happen, but i do want to know what could have caused this? could it have been something i did? and manufacturing error? perhaps a weakness in this particular riser? i have never even heard of this happening before. i am sending the whole bow back to the dealer who will hopfully give me a new bow (fingers crossed) and some answers and with any luck i will be shooting again in no time. until then "tight lines and straight arrows"

Holy cow! There aren't enough apologies in the world to make that all better. Please ask your dealer to contact Martin Archery, as a replacement bow is the minimum you should be able to expect. Without the ability to examine the bow first-hand, I could only speculate on the cause of such a failure. No use pointing fingers until all the facts are in. The only fact we are aware of is that you need a new bow. Please look for a PM.

This is the reason I currently own four Martin Bows.

Boy that sucks:eek:  It must of been a flaw in the aluminum or whatever was used for a riser. That dosent happen alot with martins, they are well made. Hope yuo are O.K

OUCH - I've got a Saber that I really like as well and wonder what the failure analysis was? Find a void, stress crack, etc? Where was the failure located on the riser? Anything to be looking for??

Thanks guys - I really like the smoothness of this rig and the speed is incredible for a short arm fellow like me. One of the best bows for the bucks that I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

I've been shooting a Saber since last spring and really enjoyed hunting with it this fall. We haven't had the opportunity to examine the riser in question and we hate to speculate. Esrom, I got your message....sorry, didn't realize you are from Australia...and have been attempting to e-mail you without success. Please look for a PM.

The bow snapped at just bellow the handle. Everyone who has seen it has agreed that it looks like a one in a million accident. As more people are reading this post i would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone one envolved in sorting my bow out and getting me shooting again, Special thanks to Lifer who has kept in contact with me and has made sure that everthing has run smoothly. My new bow has arrived in record time and i will hopfully be blooding it on some pigs in the up coming weeks :D .
