Here in New Hampshire we start in mid September and end in mid December. That makes it nice for us bow hunters. Hutch

Long Island oct 1rst to dec 31st but to many ticks until freezing temps upstate southern tier [catskills] oct 15th to nov 14th
in jersey bow season comes in in october and gun season goes out in january where i live!
I believe we start around the middle of september until the end of december. Only have to deal with gunners for 2 weeks end of october. MN.
Here in Nevada: Mule Deer - various hunts (bow, muzzle, rifle) August 8th - January 1st. Most seasons run 20-30 days with alot overlapping in different units. Elk - various hunts August 1st - January 10th all run 14 days. Antelope - various hunts August 1st - September 5th, all unit seasons run 20 days. Nelson (desert) Bighorn Sheep - Various hunts October 15th - January 1st all unit seasons run 30 days. California Bighorn Sheep September 1st - October 30th all units. Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep - September 1st - October 30th, December 20th - February 20th. Mountain Goat - September 1st - October 30th. I know Hutch only asked about deer but I figured I'd just post all the big game seasons that are available here. Everything is based on a draw and points which I think sucks out loud! My hunting buddy has put in for all four sheep unsuccessfully for 13 years.

Tags are out in Nevada. I drew archery antlered Mule Deer and any legal weapon cow Elk, woooooo hooooooooooo. My buddy drew archery Antelope horns longer than ears, any legal weapon Cow Elk (different area), and any legal weapon Desert Bighorn Sheep. Other buddy drew archery Antelope horns shorter than ears and any legal weapon California Bighorn Sheep. Gonna be real busy this year...........
