Just curious if anyone has built their own stabilizer? Hutch
I have (as you probably know ). Just look at the picture in the "contest" thread in the off-topic group.
Pics Pics alex, where are they? How did you make it? What is it made out of? HUTCH
Hutch, I'm warnin' ya! lol Mine were supposedly shipped out on the 10th, but still waiting on them to show up. IF they ever get here, I'll post some pics of the finished products. Gonna make my own VEM's out of some older Martin Cougar dampeners to use with these.
The 10th of next year? Hutch
I've been tinkering w one. I used an aluminum handle from a mini flooor jack for the main shaft, and a weight from an old quiet-tune stabilizer. I'm still deciding on the final overall length right now. It holds well at full length(24") but I really don't think it needs to be that long. It did however shrink my 40yd groups from 3" closer to 2". But mind you, I'm trying to keep tight groups w/o destroying my arrows. So I'm not using one arrow as an aiming point for the next.

Well, Hutch, i didn't want to become boring (i believe i've described the stabilizer more then once) that's why i didn't tell any details. It's made of a cheap Perfect Line stabilizer, 3/6 rubber tips for a cane and a threaded steel rod. Here's a short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRDNZWSKS6A
Nice Alex, didn't bore me I like diy projects and the more I learn the better I get. Hutch
Ok, here's what I've made. The long stab is using old Martin Cougar "VEM's", and the short stab is using a new VEM from my Onza. I made one long stab, and 3 short so I could have a modular system to play around with. The one pic is of the crappy job Dynamic Finishes did on the camo dipping. The camo peeled off from using blue painters tape when masking off for the plastic dip on the ends. om/mtechforum/attachment.php?attachmentid=3195&d=1309381189[/IMG]
For some reason, it ate these last two pics when I tried to post them in the last message. lol
