To show what I know. I don't even know what all that inch stuff is you are talking about.
MLN, that was the first buck over 100-110 inches that I saw this year. I'd gotten a glimpse of him before, but wasn't sure about his size. Only saw him way back in the brush where it was hard to tell what he looked like. Most of what I've seen this year are in the 15-50 inch category though. lol
And you were telling us how small your deer have been this year! BS!!!
I hear ya there, no need of getting the jacket bloody.
Boo, it's post-rut here right now, but we always have a small "second rut" in mid-December. Actually, I think of the Dec. rut as the 3rd rut, since I see a little rut activity in mid-Oct. usually. Big rut of course in mid-Nov. As far as the cold, it was 20 degrees. Celsius isn't for the midwest. lol I had already taken off my outer layer for the pics. I always take it off before field dressing and dragging. Less laundry to do. lol
thats a dandy! congrats. you must be pretty thick skinned to be out in 20 degree weather in a long sleeve t shirt! or do you guys use celsius down in kansas. lol. what stage is the rut in your neck of the woods? i know its different in different parts of the south
Thanks all. Well, I've caught enough grief over shooting that buck without my g/f being present, that now I have to wait on her to come back to town before I can go doe hunting. lol Gotta give her credit though, she's sat in the tree with me several times in some cold weather, just waiting for me to shoot a buck. Then the one morning I go out without her, bingo. Come to think of it, I didn't get a turkey this spring and she was with me most every trip......I smell a hunting Jinx. lol
Congrats on a good buck.

Now I have to inititate an Onza, and an Alien X on does. lol [COLOR="#0000FF"]Notice the odd little "kicker" growing out between the antlers in the second pic. Not big enough to count, but kind of unique. Says who, I'm counting it, as far as I concerned, you're the first guy I know who's harvested a triceratops! Nice buck, however you count it E.
Nice buck congrats
