Forgot to add the still photo from the video I took with a bow mounted camera; using a Playsport with an Insane Archery mount. He strutted right up to my DSD hen at 8 yds.
Thanks everyone. I really like hunting turkeys with a bow in the woods; I try to set up areas where they will come by within range, kind of like hunting funnels for deer. Oddly, I've had much better success since I slowed down and let the birds come to me when calling from the blind. I think I was blundering(and educating) too many birds while running and gunning. These were both on private land but I do hunt some public, lots of State Land around here with oak forests. Spent 5 days on public land in Ohio, first two were rainy; callled in 2 birds but not close enough for the bow.
congrats, nice looking birds. outfitter or private land
That is awesome! Congrats on a great turkey season!
