Well the 2011 and 2012 are basically the same, especially since I've upgraded to a rod/slide instead of the TRG. With that said, specs are in the sig :)
Remember that I have a shorter draw and heavier arrow than IBO. I'm pretty certain that the Onza will reach IBO speeds if set up properly.
Oh no doubt it will reach ibo, but the question is... not that im a speed freak but more of a curious george, anyway what do u think i can get with a 60 lb onza at 60 with a 29 inch draw and a 352 grain arrow? i was thinkin around 290 thats just a guess though.
Mine is a 2011 and at last check with a loaded string , 29" DL and at 73lbs .......pushing a 395grn arrow it was consistantly shooting 295fps. Im gonna recheck it this weekend becuase I changed the cable slide last night to a hyper-glyde and my 20yrd groups are now an 1" low.
Made a few changes to the Onza while ago and actually picked up around 5 fps. So now with a loaded string and my hunting arrows its shooting 300-301 fps.......Im pretty happy with that!
With my 2011 Onza set at 70#, 28.25 True draw, 383 gr. arrow, I'm getting 302 fps. Peep, D-loop and whiskers on the string. I haven't chrono'ed my 60#'er yet, but plan to do so soon. I would guess your estimate should be pretty close. You should be shooting 285-290 if the bow is tuned well.
another question is do these bows come with the cams in time or is that something i have to do i havent checked mine yet because i work 6 days a week on top of school and well shooting is something i get to do once in a blue moon.
Well, just to give you something to compare to, the Onza, and the Silencer have the same cams and limbs, just different ATA and brace, so the Silencer enjoys an IBO 5 fps faster than the Onza...
That being said, I just set my nephew's new Silencer up, 62#, 28.5 true draw, shooting an arrow just shy of 360 grains... has a dloop, peep, and 2 bowjax string silencers on it, and it ran through my chrono at a consistant 296 fps. Smoking if you ask me!
Checked the timing today at a 3d shoot and it was good, i didnt have a doubt though because of how quite and vib free it is, and this bow feels smoking fast to me and im putting together groups at 35 that i usually would at 15.. 40 is the new 20 with this bow lol. very happy with the product and probably the best $600 ive ever spent. i dont even care if its off ibo by a little bit the forgiveness and accuracy make up for it
