A question about that rack just to the left of your Skull/post mount, looks like some of the tips were broken off, was this a late season harvet, after the rut?

None are broken. the bottom left is my velvet buck I killed right before he was about to scrape the velvet off. The bone is hard and you might see loose velvet. I regret cutting the skull off. My back went out right in the middle of lifting him up on the hoist. I didn't want to deal with cleaning and simmering the skull so I did the shortcut and cut the skull off. Every time I look at it, it reminds of the time I half arsed it. LOL . The taxidermy shop sells a fake look alike reproduction skull and I'm gonna put the velvet antler on it sometime during winter.
The loose velvet would expain the blunt tips that I was refering to, thanks. I know what you mean about taking shortcuts with the mount prep, you will regret it. :)
