Congrats for the new bow! What's the DW? I've bought the Samick Longbow Cheetah this summer and am very pleased with it, although I'm not quite used to it yet.

Here's an easy to make flu flu arrow:

P.S. ElkSlayer, I'm interested in the bottle throwing machine, please post here how to do it! :)
It's 40 pounds. I wanted a lighter weight so I can practice on form and accuracy. I'm not gonna hunt with it.
I bought some Easton Poweflight 500's a couple months ago and didn't know what do do with them. So I'm using 5 of them on my longbow. I cut them to 29 inches and glued on some 5 inch right helical parabolic feathers. I'm gonna let them dry over night and try them out tomorrow.

That will give you plenty to shoot the center of your target out with. Pretty easy to see as well. :)
I like the colors...lol looks some what familiar

Thanks. They dried overnight and I tested them out today. They did pretty well. I'm doing my best to keep them dry. It's raining off and on. I had one good group then I changed the angle and anchor and my group went to crap on another spot. I have some top quality strings on their way from Champion bowstrings and some calf hair rest and leather plate and some beaver tail silences coming to in the mail.

It seems like you already have a lot of fun with the bow. When it's finally set it'd be even better. Good choice to change the string - the factory ones are strangely thin, at least on my bow.
As much as Gabe will hate the wait, in the say next six months, how much will he grow, making your choice that much easier? Saw a bunch of Martin Leopards on ebay, but those are probably borderline for him already.
Putting a rest on your Longbow will really help, I'd suggest putting a toothpick under the calfhair rest, or something a bit bigger, maybe a 1/4" dowel split in half, something to raise the arrow up off the flat shelf, it will improve arrow flight. :)
We're just waiting right now. Gabe is in a growth spurt. I really want to get him a Martin bow. Even if I have to buy one now and wait until he fits into it. It wouldn't be long anyways. he's growing fast. Plus he wants the skulls camo on his Martin bow.
I've heard about putting stuff under the rest. I'll see if they have any video's on how to do it properly.
