I don't have the bow in front of me. but I think the threaded portion is about 1.75" long. I think they are the same bolts that they use on their compounds.

Don't get me wrong... I'm a Martin fan. I love my X-200 and just acquired a Mountaineer. I've also got a Damon Howatt Bandito.
My first Jaguar arrived to my door on Monday. It had no string, it had no rest, it had no manual, it had no limb bolts. The limbs appeared to be "unfinished". Ok, to be fair, my eye may have become a little more critical since I'm applying the finish to my first longbow (built from scratch), but, the limbs appeared to have arrived without being finish sanded, and had no "finish" on them. A real concern for me, given that I live in Western Washington, where it's always raining. I spoke with Joel at Martin, and he's promised to make the bow right. I sent it back to him Monday afternoon.
Today... the "second" Jaguar bow I ordered arrived to my door. It's "complete" as far as the "parts" contained within the box. The limbs fit into the bow nicely, and appear to work just fine... however... the "finish" on these limbs is not what I expect from a Martin product. If I'm not "careful"... sliding my hands along the limbs COULD result in getting slivers. :( That's NOT an issue with my X-200, nor with my Mountaineer. Again... my eye/hands are becoming more critical after making my own longbow, and the Mountaineer appears to've been sanded with 220 grit and a few coats of clear sprayed on it... it's sure not "glassy smooth"... I know, it's a production bow. But, I really don't think seeing "Martin" on the limbs (this second Jaguar)of a bow which will give me splinters (literally) is what buying a "Martin" bow is all about. If it was being marketed as a "finish it yourself bow"... I'd be tickled pink and wouldn't think a thing of it.
I'D LIKE TO SEE HOW THESE ITALIAN LIMBS STACK UP AGAINST THE DAMON HOWATT BUILT LIMBS !!! :(
I've got the Howatt produced limbs on mine, and I am happy with them. You can see some slight sanding marks on the sides of the limbs if held up into the light just right, but they are smooth if you run your fingers down them. I am not expecting a custom finished product for the price, but am happy with what they are. Definately no chance of catching a sliver as you described with the ones that you recieved.
I'm sure Martin will take care of any issues that you have.

The Martin Tech Forum isn't the only forum buzzing about the Martin Jaguar Recurve. Seems everyone is curious and many others chasing shadows about the Jaguar, i.e. overseas limbs, Howatt limbs, old overstock risers, new risers, etc. Also, you have to balance out the comments made by over optimistic, bias moderators and those that would criticize their own grandmothers. The determining factor for me is the Martin reputation for quality; if it's not right, they'll make it right.
I'm still waiting for mine, ordered March 16th, and I just ordered another this morning. That will total eight bows for me, three Black Widows, one Horne's Archery and four Martins. Yes, I shoot them all.
Which is exactly why I do not post hear-say. Unless I get the info directly from someone employed by Martin, I do not convey it.Quote:
