Because most people think that shoot-throughs are "weird", and bowhunters generally won't give them second glance.
I have killed over a dozen deer, and one coyote, with my NOS-X shoot-through bows.
They work just fine, if you give them a chance. Ironically, it is the bowhunter that benefits the most from a balanced shoot-through cam system.
They have never been marketed to hunters, just the target crowd.
Copterdoc is correct, they do make great hunting bows, once you get over having to load an arrow from the front side. Something else he's right about is how easy an X system Nitrous camed bow tunes. As an example, last Oct I was riding my mountain bike on timber company logging roads, after a large bear that I'd seen 2nd day of deer season, when I had a small brain cramp while crossing a water bar ( diagonal shallow ditch ) and didn't keep my pedals level, pushed one down, which dug the petal into the mud and tossed me off. When the bike went down it hit cam first with just enough force to un string my bow. After I got home, took it all apart, examined the cam with magnifing glass for flaws, fixed a tiny ding, and reassembled the bow, peep was off a tad, so I decided that since I was going to mess the peep, I'd go ahead and swap out rests with my 04 Cougar, From the time I got home until I was shooting 2" 20yd groups, and cutting blazers off my field pointed arrows with the Muzzy tipped arrows was a total of 35 minutes. Yeah real easy to tune!

this bow is pretty accurate just the way it is. Joel at martin says he has no x mods anywhere. so it will be easier to find a new rod then x mods alot less money also. thanks though bill
