You are correct. My statement only holds water when the ratio of string angle to DL is correct...and my draw is only 27.5 to 27.75 inches.

Far years I would't even look at a bow with less than 40 inches ATA. Then I started shooting a Darton Avalanche for hunting (34 in. ATA). It shot almost as well as some of the longer bows. I have a 26.5 draw so now it seems that I prefer bows in the 37, 38 in. ATA. And a 6 in. BH don't really bother me too bad with the shorter draw.:)
